Scott didn't come to school until two days later when Aunt Claire finally forced him to go. She knew what happened with Mitch after he finally broke down and told her what happened, and she knew that he didn't want to face him but he needed to go to school.

Scott takes a deep breath and he finally wheels himself into first period class. A lot of students are already there including Mitch and Avi, surprising Scott they they were even hanging out together when he knows they weren't really friends before. They were in a conversation but Mitch stops and instantly looks over when Scott comes in, obviously surprised to see him.

Scott nervously looks over at Mitch and then quickly wheels himself over to the teacher to get homework he missed. He doesn't want to deal with Mitch this early.

After he got his missed homework, he wheels himself to his seat, where Avi is currently sitting.

"You're in my seat," Scott mumbles as he glances up at Avi.

"Oh shit, sorry dude," Avi says as he quickly stands up. "You haven't been here for a few days so I kind of just forget. Here you go-" He grabs the seat and pulls it back so Scott can have more room.

Scott mumbles a thank you to Avi. He doesn't even make any contact with Mitch even though he knows that Mitch is staring at him which weirds him out a little bit but he doesn't say anything.

"Hey, I'll see you later at lunch, okay?" Avi smiles at Mitch and then he walks over to his seat.

Mitch nods at him, and then he smiles as he watches Avi walk away and then he glances over at Scott, who's too focused on the homework he just got. Mitch frowns and looks down at his hands.

Mitch doesn't like that he and Scott are like this after all the time they spent together the past few weeks and how they got to know each other, but he also can't help but feel just a little bit angry at Scott for how he reacted to him confessing his feelings the other day. Why did Scott react like that?

Mitch still has feelings for him... but now he feels like he will never have a chance with him and that hurts.

At lunch, Mitch sits with Avi like he has been doing since Scott hasn't been there.

"Hey Mitch, how was your day?" Avi asks, sitting down next to him.

Pretty good, thanks. A little awkward around Scott but whatever.

"That sucks. I know you two had become good friends," Avi frowns. "Are you okay?"

Mitch nods and then pulls out an apple from his lunch bag that his mom packed for him.

"So, Mitch... there's something that I've wanted to ask you..."

Mitch looks over at Avi and raises his eyebrows.

"Well, I really like hanging out with you. I know it's only been a few days but you're really cool. I really didn't know you that well before your party but I've loved spending time with you," Avi says.

Mitch slowly sets his apple down as he listens to Avi, his heart beating fast as if he knows what's coming.

"What I'm trying to say is... will you go on a date with me?" Avi asks shyly, looking up at Mitch.

Mitch's eyes widen. He knew it was coming but he's still shocked.

Avi likes him? He doesn't even know that Avi likes boy. He thought he was straight. Is he bi?

"It's okay if you say no... we don't really know each other that well, but I really like you..."

Mitch bites his lip nervously as he thinks. But what about Scott?

Scott doesn't like him. He completely rejected him. Maybe being with Avi will help him forget...

Mitch looks up at Avi and smiles, and nods excitedly.

I would love to go on a date with you. Just tell me when.

Avi smiles. "Awesome! How about tomorrow after school? I'll pick you up!"

You drive?

"Yeah. I got my license a few months ago. I love driving," Avi grins.

I can't wait. I've never been on a date before.

"Well I'll make sure to make this one extra special," Avi says, reaching over and taking Mitch's hand.

Mitch blushes as he looks down at their hands.

Wow. His first possible boyfriend. Who needs Scott anyways?
