CHAPTER 9    THREE-WAY CALL

Rusty's Point of View

It's the weekend and it's nice to be home.   I decided to enjoy this sunny Saturday morning by the pool. It's nice to feel the warmth of the sun since it's been raining these past few days.   Rainy season na ulit.  

SPLASH!

"Fudge, it's cold!   Patay ka sa akin mamaya Theodore!  Ihuhulog din kita sa pool!"  

"Hahahaha!  Huwag ka naman KillJoy Kokeng!"

Kaaga-aga pa lang, ang iingay na ng mga mokong na ito.  Nasira tuloy ang concentration ko.  I placed my drawing pad and pencil down and looked at them.   As usual, my friends are here.   They like to sleep over during the weekends.   Para na nga nilang second home ito e.   Ok lang naman because there are a lot of rooms anyway.  My parents and my siblings don't mind either.   

"Ready na po breakfast sir."

"Ok Manang Sita. Salamat po."

"Hoy mga panget!  Ready na ang breakfast."

"Ang sungit naman netong amo naten!" sabi ni Andrew.

"Masama yata ang gising," sabi naman ni Yosef.

"Wala!  Ang  iingay niyo kasi, hindi ako makapag-concentrate!"

"Ahhh.   Are you having trouble drawing again?  Sabi ko sayo pare, kailangan mo lang ng inspiration,",dagdag naman ni Theodore.

"Ayeeeee!   Hintayin lang natin.  Soon, magkaka-inspirasyon na yan!" si Kokeng naman.

"You guys are impossible!"   I just shook my head.

"Rusty!   Aren't we having any party this this year?"  Si Andrew talaga puro party ang nasa isip.

"OO nga Rusty,  let's have a party again at your house and we can invite the girls again."  I knew it!

"Ikaw talaga Kokeng, puro na lang babae nasa isip mo.   Aren't you guys tired of it?  It's the same thing every year."

"You're right, Rusty.  It's become boring."  Aba, Theodore agreed with me?  "Why don't we invite the 'Buloys' and the first section girls this time?"then he winked at me.  

Hmmm....that doesn't sound so bad.  

"I'll think about it."

"Dali na Rusty, it's our last year in High School.  Might as well make the most out of it."  Geesh, Yosef has a point. 

"Fine!  But you all have to help me clean up and get things ready!"

"Yes Boss!" they all said in unison.  Excited talaga?!

"Rusty, we'll make sure all the first section girls are coming.  But you should invite them yourself because it's YOUR party."   Theodore gave me that look again and just smiled.  

I'll have to invite them myself? Why do I feel nervous? Then I couldn't stop thinking how I should approach them...... Samotny in particular.   It feels awkward after that incident in her classroom.   Will she come?  Suddenly, I got excited about this party. Why?  I don't know.

Bakit may bagyo ngayon?  Wala tuloy pasok!  I'm stuck in the house. Ilang araw ko na ding hindi nakikita si Rusty. Nalulungkot tuloy ako.
