Alex wasn't letting what Carter said go. He was barely twenty five yet, and yet he had been in a marriage. Alex was nineteen and she hadn't had a boyfriend since Kayden's dad. She was just too busy for a relationship right now. She sat in bed all night. Thinking about her baby. The only boy that really mattered in her life. Kayden was with his Grandmother. Alex loved her Mom but she wanted to raise Kayden herself. Her mom however wanted Kayden in a "stable environment". As soon as Alex got a billion dollars in her bank account, she was out. She would buy Alice out of Cherry Red and be the new owner, gaining huge profits from this investment. She was broken from her thoughts by Carter barging in.

"Alice wants you out of bed". He sighed.

"Ok. Tell her I'll be right in". Alex whispered.

"You ok?". Carter frowned.

"You don't care". She smiled sadly at him.

He shrugged and left the room.

Alex got up and put on a Royal colorful shirt. Jordan had got it for her birthday. She slid on some jean shorts and walked out of the room.

"Good your up!". Alice jumped off the couch.

"Yeah". Alex sighed.

She went to the kitchen and got a pop tart.

"Are you seriously eating that?!". Alice snatched away the pop tart.

"Yes I seriously am!". Alex snatched it back taking a bite out of it.

"You have dance class in twenty minutes. So head to the studio and I'll meet you over there". Alice demanded.

"I don't need to practice, I made the choreography". Alex frowned.

"Ok. Then I guess the day is all yours". Alice rolled her eyes.

Alex nodded and slid on some slides. She grabbed a bag of clothes and her car keys.

"I'm going to see my child, if that's ok". She looked to Alice.

"Whatever. Just be at the dance off by eight tonight". Alice instructed.

Alex nodded. She walked out of the door with Carter close behind.

"Why you bugging?". He asked as they got into the car.

"I am missing out on important milestones in my child's life". Alex began.

"And I'm afraid he's going to grow up and look back and realize that I was never there for him. And he's going to hate me for it. And I can't deal with that if he does". Alex wiped her eyes.

"Here you go with that deep shit". Carter smirked.

"Nigga, I'm sitting here trying to open up to you and you just say that?". Alex looked at Carter sideways.

"I'm not as deep as you". He shrugged.

Alex shook her head and threw the car in reverse. She then headed toward Jordan's house. After a few minutes they were at a light and Carter decided to speak up.

"Your not who I thought you were". He looked out his window.

"And exactly who did you think I was?". She stared a hole in the side of his head.

"A stuck up dancer". He answered now turning to her.

"And who am I to you now?". She stared him in the eye.

"A mother who is trying to make a better life for her son". He answered.

She turned forward taking in his words.

"What made you change your mind?". She asked after a few minutes.

"Seeing you-cry over Kayden-even though he may not remember any of this". He nodded.

She pulled into Jordan's driveway and called her Mom so she could bring Kayden over. Jordan walked outside and got in the car.

"Hey, is Kayden on the way?". She asked.

"Yea". Alex nodded resting her head on the steering wheel.

"What's wrong Alex?". Jordan slid closer to her friend.

"My mom and I are having some disagreements on where Kayden should be". Alex sighed feeling tears come to her eyes.

"Who has custody of him?". Carter piped up.

"It's me. But I need her to watch him while I work. But that might change". Alex began crying.

"Alex, you may not want to but you may have to take your son away". Jordan advised.

"That is the last thing I want to do but, it's looking like that. I pay for everything anyway. Her house, her bills, her car, Kayden clothes, his food, I pay for all of it". Alex vented.

She quickly wiped her eyes once she saw her Mom's car pull up.

"I'm gonna go get him, Jordan get up front, one of y'all will have to drive". Alex instructed.

She went over to her Mom's car and Kayden was screaming his head off. He saw Alex and his face softened.

"Mama". He called causing Alex to cry.

"My baby". She picked him up out of his carseat.

"Mama". He repeated.

"I love you Kay". She held him close.

"He needs to be back by Sunday morning". Her mom had her arms folded.

The deal was Alex got her son during the week and her Mom got him on the weekends. But this week her Mom wouldn't hand Kayden over. She had him for the whole week until today which was Friday.

"He'll be back Wednesday". Alex rolled her eyes.

"Excuse me?!". Her mom walked over to her.

"He is coming back Wednesday". Alex stated again.

Kayden was already in the car.

"He's my son and he comes back when I say he does.". Alex folded her arms.

"How dare you!". Her mom cocked her hand back.

"Do it, I will take him away so fast you won't even see it coming". Alex threatened.

Her mom put her hand down.

"You wouldn't dare". She squinted.

"Watch me". Alex got inside the car and Jordan drove away.
