The Bad Part About Loving Her

Chapter 26

The weekend came pretty quickly. Alex had taken Janai shopping and she had a home decor specialist designing Janai's room while they were out.

"So how was school this week?". Alex asked while carrying two bags of clothes for Kayden.

"Well, people still can't believe that my sister is Alex Winters. It's like a switch turned on and now they all want to be my friend". Janai rolled her eyes.

"I'm sorry". Alex sympathized.

"I actually like the attention". Janai chuckled causing Alex to laugh.

They went into a couple more stores and headed to Menchies frozen yogurt.

"Can I ask you a question?". Janai asked once they sat down after getting their frozen yogurt.

Alex nodded.

"How did you have Kayden when you are only twenty years old?". Janai cocked her head to the side.

"Lets just say I was "in love" with his Dad at some point in my teenage years and we did something that changed our lives forever. Would I take it back? Not in a million years. Kayden helped me grow up and learn things that I never thought I would learn at my age. But I'm not saying you should go out and get pregnant, I couldn't go to prom or college because Kayden became my number one priority". Alex explained.

"Wow.". Janai replied.

They continued shopping and went to lunch.

"So what do you want to do once you get out of school"? Alex asked.

"Well, I love photography and I'm heading toward that field. But I'm not sure how to get into that, like where do I go, who do I talk to, that sort of stuff". Janai answered.

"It's funny you say that, I have a friend in the photography buisness around your age, I can give him a call and you guys can meet and he can take you under his wing". Alex planned.

"You'd do that for me?". Janai felt loved.

"Yes. Anything for my sister". Alex put her hand on Janai's.

They finished lunch and Alex had taken the longest route back home. After the designer texted her saying Janai's room was finished, Alex drove home quickly.

"Ok I have a suprise for you". Alex went over to Janai and covered her eyes.

She led her inside the house and up the stairs. The stairs being no easy task. Once they reached the second floor, Alex went toward Janai's room.

"Ok you can open your eyes in 3...2...1!". Alex took her hands off of Janai's face.

Janai looked around in shock.

"Wow". She walked around in surprise. 

"Do you like it?".  Alex smiled.

"I-I-wow".  Janai stood with her mouth wide open.

"I'll take that as a yes".  Alex chuckled.

Alex walked out of Janai's room and headed to her own.  She opened the door to find Kayden sprawled out across the bed sleeping. 

"Awww".  She cooed.

She took off her clothes and got in bed and went to sleep.

Alex was woken up by Jordan.

"Hm?".  Alex groaned.

"It's time to go to the gala for the Cherry Reds".  Jordan informed her.
