Alex took a deep breath. She was nervous for this date. She needed it to go well. She curled her hair, and did her makeup. Carter was downstairs waiting on her. She pulled on her dress and heels. She searched her closet for her jewelry. She found the perfect necklace and earrings. She put them on and looked herself over in the mirror.
"Your beauty is like a knife, one wrong move and a bitch could die". Alex repeated a line she had made up herself.
She pulled on a nude blazer and went into their bedroom. She spotted her engagement ring on Carter's side of the bed. She walked over to it and picked it up.
"Why couldn't you have done right by me Carter?". She whispered to herself.
Sliding the ring on she put her phone in her clutch and went into the hallway.
"I'm ready!". She called to Carter.
He went to the bottom of the stairs and his jaw dropped as soon as he laid eyes on her.
"Like what you see?". Alex smirked.
"I-I-I was just getting air". He lied.
"You do have a nose for a reason". Alex cocked her eyebrow up.
"Well uhm-I-we should go". He blurted.
Alex chuckled.
She sashayed out the door.
"So where is this so called date gonna be?". Alex looked to Carter.
"I'm not gon tell you". He backed out of the driveway.
He instinctively put his hand on Alex's thigh.
Alex looked down at his hand. He knows what this does to her.
"I see you put your ring back on". He noted.
"Yeah, well I figured I'd get it before you gave it to someone else". Alex winked.
"Wow. The shade". He chuckled.
They arrived at a restaurant. Carter had never taken Alex here before.
Carter got out and opened Alex's door for her.
"Your sweet". Alex blushed.
He took her hand and led her inside.
There was no one but a bartender inside.
"Bae, I think its closed". Alex frowned at him.
"Yeah, for us". He smirked.
Alex's jaw dropped.
"You rented out a restaurant for me?". Alex was impressed.
"There isn't a thing in this world I wouldn't do for you". He looked her in the eye seriously.
Alex didn't know what to say.
They went inside.
"Carter, where's our table?". Alex frowned.
He pointed to two double doors.
Alex walked toward the doors, she opened them. Her mouth flew open at the sight. Carter immediately took her hand.
