Alex knew her plan. It would be a long one, but once it was finished, she'd have Carter right where she wanted him. After the rehearsal she had Nick take her to the mall for some shopping. It would be Kayden's second birthday in a couple days and she wanted to make sure he had fun. Now that he was walking, he needed things to keep him busy and out of trouble. She wanted to get him two bounce houses, one for kids his age and another for the bigger kids. She had invited everyone from Cherry Red studios. Even the mini cherries. She also invited Alice and her family. Alex needed a birthday outfit for Kayden. She also needed some decorations and candy. Along with gift bags. Alex bought what she could remember and decided to buy the rest later. She drove home by herself, giving Nick and her driver the rest of the day off.

Once Alex got home to the penthouse Jordan and Kayden were sitting on the couch watching tv.

"I'm home!". Alex sang.

"Mommy!". Kayden shot off the couch and into Alex's waiting arm's.

"My big boy! What did you do today?". Alex asked excitedly.

"Auntie Jodan take me to da park". He smiled.

"That sounds fun. Guess what I did today?". Alex awaited his response.

"Wha?". He asked.

"I brought stuff for your birthday party!". She smiled.

"Yay!". He cheered.

She set him down and began putting the stuff away.

"Jordan!". Alex called.

"Yes". Jordan appeared in the doorway of the kitchen.

"So I was thinking. How would you like to move in?". Alex was hoping she would agree.

"Of course! You know it would be so fun". Jordan agreed.

"Good. I'm going house hunting tomorrow so I need your opinion". Alex informed her.

"Cool. So what's the plan for his birthday?". Jordan asked.

"Well my baby daddy supposedly is coming to see his son and his grandmother is coming. Then Alice and her family coming then the mini cherries and everybody from Cherry Red is coming". Alex listed off all the guests.

"Sounds big. I think he'll have a lot of fun". Jordan smiled.

"I hope so, this party ain't cheap". Alex nodded.

After putting the party items away, she proceeded to cook dinner.

She cooked grilled chicken, black beans, and white rice. She cut up a small piece of chicken and mixed rice and beans together for Kayden.

"Kayden!". Alex called.

"Yes?!". He answered running into the kitchen.

"You wanna eat eat?". She asked holding the bowl of food out toward him.

He took the bowl and ran back into the living room.

Alex made a plate for her and Jordan and went into the living room.

"Have you heard anything from Carter?". Jordan asked while they were eating.

"Nope. It's just so frustrating. Like he left with no explanation not even a proper goodbye. He says he's leaving because of what happened but, I sensed it was more than what he was telling me". Alex sighed.

"It'll all work itself out. Plus, with the Cherry Red tour going to New York, you could always track him down, he won't have anywhere to go". Jordan plotted.

"Yeah well, he's got his brother working in his former spot. So I guess it's basically to spy on me and see what I am up too". Alex thought out loud.

"Wait? His brother is your body guard now? How did that happen?". Jordan questioned.

"He set Alice on his brother's trail after he quit. I don't know what that man is up to, but I'm going to find out". Alex was determined.

After dinner Jordan washed the dishes while Alex gave Kayden a bath. After his bath she fed him some ice cream and went into her bedroom.

She swaddled him as he looked up at her with his sleepy eyes.

"I love you Kayden". She whispered to him.

"I wuv you to Mommy". He whispered back.

She kissed his forehead and continued rocking him until he fell asleep. She laid him next to her and surrounded his other side with pillows.

Jordan had gone back to her apartment. Alex was excited that she had agreed to live with her and Kayden. It would be a great experience.

Alex showered and put her wavy hair into a messy bun. She made sure the kitchen and living room was clean and that all the lights were off. She went back upstairs and laid in bed, causing Kayden to snuggle closer to her. After a few minutes she was asleep ready to get to the next day.

Alex was woken up by Kayden's foot poking in her side.

"Damn this boy sleep wild". Alex groaned.

She fixed his sleeping position and went into the bathroom. She took a shower and washed her hair. She let it air dry and put on a sweatshirt Jordan had cut for her. She looked in the mirror and decided to post on Instagram, seeing as her followers were worried about her. She posted the picture and went to check on Kayden. He was still asleep so she went downstairs. She turned on the tv and was watching the news when someone knocked on her door. She sighed and got up to get it. She opened the door and there stood Jay, Kayden's father.

"What the hell?". Alex frowned.

"Hey. I got here a little early and thought I'd stop by". Jay was anxious and hesitant.

"Why are you here?". Alex folded her arms.

"To see my son". He answered.

"After damn near six months?". Alex shot.

"I was in hiding. You know dem niggas over there in Atlanta was shootin at me". He rolled his eyes.

"Negro please. What the hell did you do to get shot at anyway?". Alex was certainly amused.

"Man that's not important. I just want to see my son and I will be on my way". Jay was growing impatient.

"He sleep. Are you coming to his bithday party?". Alex questioned.

"Yeah, I'll be there to see my lil man turn two". He smiled.

"Ok, I'll text you the time and everything". Alex nodded.

"Alright. Bye Alex". He turned and walked away.

Alex closed the door and locked it. She was slightly skeptical as to why Jay would show up now. Kayden's party wasn't until tomorrow afternoon. Maybe he was finally coming to his senses and wanted to be a Father. Or maybe Alex isn't seeing everything clearly.
