The Bad Part About Loving Her

Chapter 25

Alex had a busy day today. First she was going to family court to get full custody of Kayden considering he was still in Jordan's custody legally. Then she was going to go to her Mother's trial. Then she had to go to Family court again, for Nick. Jordan would be watching Kayden while Alex was gone.

Alex woke up around 7am and peeled Kayden's body off of her. She went into the bathroom and showered. She brushed her teeth and washed her face. She straightened her wavy hair and threw it into a ballerina bun. She lotioned her body and put on her white undershirt. She pulled her royal blue pencil skirt over half her stomach. She strapped on her gold heels and threw her blazer on.

She took a messenger bag with her. She kissed Kayden's forehead and went out the door.

She arrived at Family court. It was an hour drive away from her house. First up would be Nick's case. She went into the courtroom and sat in the spectators seats.

"All rise! The honorable Judge Ramos!". The bailiff announced.

A short tan woman walked in and took her seat.

"You may be seated". She dismissed looking at the documents before her.

"Good morning. We are here today to determine who holds custody of Kensey Alison Green. Mr. Green what is it that you wish to gain today?". She looked to Nick.

"Your Honor, the least I am looking for is joint custody. However, I do wish to be granted full custody". Nick stated.

"And what is it that you provide for Kensey?". The judge replied.

"I give her Mother two-hundred thousand dollars a month for child support. I also provide health insurance for Kensey". He listed.

"Yes, I do see many transactions made here for two-hundred thousand dollars and your insurance is a bit pricey for just yourself. Ms. Hamilton, what do you wish to gain today?". The judge looked to Ashley.

"Um-I want to deny full and joint custody to Mr. Green. I also want to request a restraining order against him". Ashley replied.

"And why the restraining order?". The judge peeked at Ashley through her glasses.

"I have reason to believe that Mr. Green has hurt Kensey". Ashley lied.

Nick's face was full of hurt and anger.

Alex was dumbfounded that Ashley would even say that.

"And that reason is?". The judge asked.

"I allowed Mr. Green to take Ashley on Thursday, April 17, 2017 and she returned with a band-aid on her knee". Ashley countered.

"Ms. Hamilton, unless signs of physical abuse has taken place, I cannot by the court of law issue a restraining order against Mr. Green. You must have physical proof that some sort of abuse has taken place". Judge Ramos sighed.

"Well I do not want him with full or joint custody". Ashley folded her arms.

"Ms. Hamilton. In the state of California, a parent cannot pay child support without visitation. Also, Mr. Green is paying a large amount for one child so I will be issuing a child support readjustment. We will adjourn this council now and return on the thirteenth of March. Until this date I grant full custody to Mr. Green, court is adjourned". Judge Ramos banged her gavel.

Ari went over to Nick and hugged him.

"Congratulations". She smiled.

"Thanks, but it's not over yet". Nick looked over to Ashley who was talking furiously to her lawyer.
