Back In California, Alex was cradling a teething Kayden.

He whined again and she rocked him.

Jordan came into the living room.

"What's wrong Kay?". She asked.

"His molars are coming in". Alex explained.

"Tragic". Jordan sat down next to them.

Alex went into the kitchen and got a cold cup of water and applesauce.

She dipped her finger in the water and then put apple sauce on it. She stuck her finger in Kayden's mouth and began massaging his gums.

"Aww who gets the Mommy of the year award". Jordan cooed.

Kayden stopped whining and fell asleep.

"He hasn't slept since we got home yesterday, he must be exhausted". Alex laid him on the couch.

She went into the kitchen and began working on lunch.

She made chicken nuggets and fries.

"No adult food in this house". Jordan sighed.

"Well your Godson chooses what groceries get brought into the house". Alex shrugged.

Jordan took a plate and went into the living room.

"Can you go put him in his room please?". Alex asked.

After they arrived back to California Alex had moved into her new house.

"Yeah. Just give me second". Jordan replied.

Alex finished cooking and set aside a small plate of food for Kayden. She ate her food and went upstairs to her bedroom. She got in her bed and fell asleep.

Alex woke up around 5pm. She checked on Kayden who was still sleeping. She walked over to him and felt his forehead. It was hot. She picked him up and his eyes fluttered open. He coughed.

"Your gonna be fine baby, a warm bath and some medicine should help". Alex smiled down at him.

She filled the bath tub halfway with warm water and took his clothes off. She sat him in the water.

"Don't poop in here like you did last time". She warned.

"You did dat". He pointed to her.

"Nah if I recall correctly it was you sir". Alex giggled.

"Nuh-uh". He shook his head.

She finished bathing him and wrapped him in a towel.

She took him to his room and laid him on the changing table. She put his diaper on and rubbed his body with lotion. She got him footsie pajamas and put them on. She picked him up and took him downstairs. She put him in his highchair and warmed up some chicken and rice. She got him a sippy cup and filled it halfway with juice and with 5 mL of baby cough medicine.

She shook the cup so the medicine would mix with the juice.

She fed him and took him upstairs.

She sat in the rocking chair in the corner of his room and gave him the cup of juice. She began rocking. She began to sing.

Alex finished singing softly and looked down at a sleeping Kayden. He had finished all his juice. She took the cup out of his hand and kissed his forehead. She laid him in his crib and turned on his nightlight. After turning on the baby monitor, she walked out of the room and pulled the door closed leaving it open a little.

She went to her own room and took a shower. After her shower she put on some pajamas and got in bed. She was drifting off to sleep when someone FaceTimed her.

She looked at the name and it was Carter. She answered.

"Hey". She yawned.

"Did I wake you up? I could call tomorrow". He offered.

"No, I was just laying down". She yawned.

"Mhm. How was your day?". He asked.

"Oh, Kay is sick so I had to take care of him and keep a close eye out. But I've been in the house all day". She recounted.

"Is he feeling better?". Carter was actually worried about Kayden.

"Yeah, his fever went down and he's sleeping now". Alex was intrigued that Carter cared so much.

"Yeah well I just started my new job here. It's cool I guess but I kind of hate it". He sighed.

"Why?". Alex yawned again.

"Because it's the only thing standing between you and me". He spoke softly.

"Mr. Slickster! I missed you!". Alex giggled.

Carter began laughing.

"I miss you". He retorted after catching his breath.

"I miss you too". Alex gave him a quick smile.

She yawned again, her eyes getting watery and heavy.

"I'm gonna let you go to sleep". Carter chuckled.

Alex smiled with her eyes closed.

Carter hung up and she drifted off to sleep.
