After Jay's surprise visit, Alex had a lot on her mind. What if Jay had some alternative motives? Would she be able to protect Kayden? These things ran through her mind causing her not to hear Jordan walk through the front door.
"Hey girl, where Kayden at?". Jordan asked.
Alex didn't respond so Jordan snapped her fingers.
"Oh! Uhm-he's sleeping still". Alex replied still stuck in thought.
"What's on your mind? You look...lost". Jordan looked at her best friend sideways.
"Jay was here". Alex said simply.
"Here? Like in this house?". Jordan was confused.
"No. At the front door". Alex answered.
"What?! Did Kayden see him?". Jordan fired.
"No! He was sleeping so I told him he would see him tomorrow if he came to the party". Alex explained.
"He wanted something else didn't he?". Jordan eyed Alex suspiciously.
"Not wanting something physically, maybe something emotionally". Alex spoke.
"What the hell does that mean?". Jordan frowned.
"He wants sympathy". Alex looked over to Jordan.
"Sympathy?". Jordan frowned.
"He claims that niggas back home have been shooting at him. He wouldn't tell me why". Alex explained.
"Interesting". Was all Jordan could say .
Alex went upstairs and Kayden was awake watching cartoons.
"Hello sir". She greeted playfully.
"Hi Mommy". He yawned.
"Daddy is coming to your party tomorrow". Alex informed Kayden.
"Who?". Kayden frowned.
"Your Daddy". Alex giggled.
"Whas a daddy?". Kayden asked confusedly.
"He helps the Mommy make the baby". Alex answered.
"I ha one?". Kayden pointed to himself.
"Yes you do". Alex smiled.
"You ha one?". He pointed to Alex.
"No. I did but, he's...gone". Alex swallowed the lump in her throat.
"Were he go?" Kayden questioned.
"To heaven I hope". Alex whispered holding back tears.
"Can I go to haven?". He asked again.
"No! I go first then you go!". Alex was shocked by his question.
She picked him up and took him to brush his teeth. He didn't have bad breath, she just wanted him to know how when he had to.
She took him downstairs for breakfast and let him feed himself some fruit.
After breakfast she got them dressed in their matching Mother and Son outfits and went downstairs.
"Jordan! You ready?!". She called from the front door".
"Yeah!". Jordan yelled back.
Alex put Kayden in his carseat and headed to the parking garage. She strapped Kayden in the backseat and went to the driver's side of the car. She got inside and began applying her makeup.
"Mommy!". Kayden called.
"Yes baby". She answered.
"Toy?". Kayden pointed to the car floor.
She picked up the stuffed Elmo toy and handed it to Kayden.
Jordan got into the car and they were on their way.
"How many houses are we checking out?". Jordan asked doing her makeup.
"Just one. I really liked it and everything". Alex hoped Jordan would like the house.
"We going shopping for lil man after this?". Jordan asked.
"Yeah. I just need a few more things from the store and we can set up". Alex explained.
They drove to the house in silence, an occasional question from Kayden.
"We're here". Alex announced.
"Shit!". Jordan said in amazement.
"Sit!". Kayden repeated.
"Kayden that's a bad word don't say that!". Alex looked at Jordan sternly.
"My bad". Jordan shrugged.
Alex took Kayden out of his carseat and let him walk holding his hand.
"Well at least I know what you think about the outside". Alex rolled her eyes at Jordan.
They went inside and were greeted by the real estate agent Mindy.
"You must be Alex, I'm Mindy". She held her hand out.
"Nice to meet you Mindy, this is my son Kayden and my best friend Jordan". Alex introduced the three.
"Nice to meet you guys". Mindy smiled.
"Alrighty, why don't we get started with the tour and then if your interested I have the paperwork in my bag and move on from there". Mindy smiled.
"Ok". Alex agreed.

Thirty Minutes Later"So I'll give you some time to think and you can find me in the living room". Mindy had completed the tour.
"So what should I do?". Alex asked Jordan.
"I think you should buy it". Jordan advised.
"Ok. What do you think Kayden?". Alex keeled down to him.
"Buy yit". He repeated Jordan.
Alex giggled and kissed his cheek.
"Looks like we're moving in then". Alex announced.
She went to Mindy and got the papers for the house.
"This is a lot of paper work". Alex whispered to herself.
She sat at the island in the kitchen and began filling everything out while Jordan played with Kayden.
Later, Alex gave Mindy all the paper work she filled out.
"Great! So now we just have to go through mortgage payments and price range". Mindy grinned.
"Ok what price are you willing to let it go for?". Alex requested.
"I am willing to let it go for $100,000". Mindy negotiated.
"I can do that". Alex agreed.
"Good, do you want to do cash or monthly payments, or check?". Mindy questioned.
"I can do check". Alex looked at the time on her watch.
"Ok, we can set up a meeting on giving me the money or I can get it later this week". Mindy checked her phone for her schedule.
"Ok, how about tomorrow morning?". Alex was hopeful.
"Yes. I can do that, it was nice doing business with you". Mindy shook Alex's hand.
The three left the house and got into the car.
"Next stop, the mall!". Alex announced looking back at a sleeping Kayden.
"How he just gonna go to sleep and we planning his party". Alex looked amusedly to Jordan.
"Girl that's yo child not mine". Jordan shrugged.
"That's your Godson". Alex rolled her eyes.
They drove in silence to the mall.
