"changkyun?", you knocked on his door.
you dropped the plate of food on the ground as you saw the bed sheets on the floor and the window opened, causing the curtains to flow from the wind. hyungwon ran to your side, wondering where the loud crash noise was coming from.
"what happened?", he asked but then took a peek through the door.
"where did he go?"
"i don't know."
"he could've went back to the castle."
"what for?"
hyungwon shrugged his shoulders, "maybe he wanted to talk to his father or something?"
you and kihyun rode all the way back to changkyun's place, wanting to make sure he was there and that he was alright.
"what if his father is controlling him or something?", you panicked, "maybe he brought him outside!"
"relax. maybe changkyun just has to do something."
you guys arrived there a lot quicker as the sun was rising, making it easier to see your way.

he stood at the top balcony, where his father used to read his speeches down to the little people. but now it was empty and there was no king to do so.
"changkyun!"
changkyun looked down to see you getting off the horse, throwing your arms in the air. he simply stepped on the edge of the balcony and jumped down, scaring both you and kihyun.
"are you okay? why'd you run off like that! i was so worried! did something happen? is your father here?"
"don't worry. his body is here but he's not necessarily here with us."
"what? wait, did you...?"
changkyun nodded softly and patted your head. kihyun put his arm on his shoulder, telling him that everything will be okay.
"what are you guys doing here?"
"we came to take you back since you ran off", kihyun replied.
"i think i'll stay here."
you and kihyun faced each other and looked at him.
"what?"
"i have a village to bring up again don't i? it's a king's duty."
kihyun looked away and pulled your arm, dragging you.
"wait."
you stood between the two guys, realizing now you had to choose.
"what's wrong?", changkyun asked.
"i think i've decided."
"what?", kihyun asked.
"i'm going to stay with..."
