Not a soul wasn't excited to start filming the brand new television show, as everyone was ready long before the filming was scheduled to start. Finally, the cameras were all turned to them, initiating the long week of filming ahead. The host stepped in and introduced the show to the cameras. He then began drawling on and on about what would happen over the next few days. Of course, both idol groups felt a growing sense of boredom, as they already knew much of what was in store for them. After what seemed like hours, the host finally started explaining the rules of the first activity.
"Today, we will hold a photography contest, where you will all compete against each other to see who can produce the best picture. The subject of the picture you submit can be absolutely anything, even yourselves. You will put yourselves into groups of two or three and work together to produce the most astounding picture you can. However, your team must have at least one member of each idol group. These will be your teams for the week. Please form your teams so we can pass out the cameras." he explained.
Quickly, everyone got into their groups, purposefully leaving Jimin and Mina with no partner.
"Well, I guess it's just you and me." smiled Mina, who was then handed a camera.
"Yep." said Jimin. "Let's win this Mina!"
"You can go absolutely anywhere on this island, as long as you come back on time. Ready! Set! Start snapping!" The host yelled enthusiastically. The game had begun.
"Let's just enjoy the island" said Mina. "The perfect picture will come to us naturally!"
"We should walk through the forest. Most of the other groups went to take pictures in the village." Jimin said, thoughtfully.
"Well then, let's buy snacks first so we can have a picnic!" Mina suggested.
They both walked through the village to stock up on snacks. After all, who can resist food? Jimin was able to lose the cameraman along the way, leaving them free to enjoy their day. They aquired a blanket and a basket to carry everything in, then set off for a nearby forest. Jimin took charge of the camera, having more experience than Mina. They snapped picture after picture of the trees, flowers, and animals they encountered along the way. When they got hungry, they laid down the picnic supplies and began to eat.
After eating, Jimin and Mina began to talk to each other, happy to be with a friend for the week. For hours, they stayed in the same position. Jimin lying down on his back with Mina's head on his chest as she lay perpendicular to him on the ground. It took some time to get used to the position, but their fatigued bodies eventually distraced them from the mild awkwardness.
Eventually, they had to go, having already captured some impressive shots. As they finished packing up, a sweet smell caught their attention. Following it, they were surprised with what seemed to be the most beautiful view in he whole village.
They had stumbled across a valley, lush with vivid green trees. A beautiful river, seemingly tiny from where they were, slithered in-between the two mountains that formed the valley. Jimin and Mina stood on a ledge, high above the valley, where a single cherry blossom tree grew, it's roots digging into the dark, rich soil. Mina gasped and walked up to the cherry blossom tree, running her fingers across the tree trunk. Jimin took in the sight, astounded. The mist and fog hanging over the valley made the whole scene completely magical. And as the sun started to set, the sky was tinged with pink. This, combined with the gorgeous cherry blossom tree - it's pink petals slowly falling - made the view all the more majestic.
Lastly, Jimin simply could not keep his eyes off Mina, who had sat down at the base of the tree. The delicate petals cascaded down on her along with the soft breeze. Her hands were full of the beautiful flowers, an elegant smile plastered on her face. Mina looked like an angel, a miracle on earth. Pouring his emotions into the camera, he took a picture. It was stunning, no doubt, but something was missing. Crouching down, Jimin picked the largest, most beautiful, intact flower he could find. With gentle hands, he placed it tenderly in her hair, then brushed away a few strands from her face, never breaking eye contact. He wondered if she could see the awe in his eyes. He backed up and raised the camera to his face. As Mina became lost in wonder once more, he snapped a picture.
This was the one.
The pink sky, magical valley, regal tree, lush forest, and the most beautiful girl in the world, all in one picture. Satisfied, Jimin set the camera down and joined Mina underneath the tree. Wordlessly, he pulled her into a hug as he leaned on the trunk of the tree, his head on her shoulder and his arms around her waist, hugging her tightly. They didn't know if friends were supposed to behave that way, but they welcomed the sensation equally.
Jimin and Mina arrived last at the resort, having barely come back on time.
"Did you enjoy yourselves too much?" asked Jungkook, teasing them again.
They blushed, but were saved by the host.
"Now that everyone is here, it's time to finally reveal your pictures. Make sure to tell us how you captured it!"
Team after team presented, showing off beautiful camera-work. An old bridge over a river. Streetlights down a long road. Women wearing traditional costumes. Jimin watched them on the screen, but he knew his favourite was still the one taken by himself. As theirs appeared on screen, everyone gasped at it's beauty. Mina blushed.
"Was I really that fascinated?" She asked.
"Yes." Jimin replied, before quickly adding "Don't worry, it's cute!"
That didn't exactly help with the blushing.
"I captured this after we stumbled upon the most beautiful place in the world. There was a single cherry blossom tree, perched on a ledge by itself. " said Jimin. "When I saw how happy Mina looked, I realized I could include that in the picture. I think that really completed the scene."
And of course, Jimin and Mina won first place.
At the end of the day, everyone crashed onto their beds, glad to be asleep after the day's events. That is, everyone but two certain individuals. Jimin and Mina lay on the roof, looking up at the night sky. Jimin had found the inconspicuous doorway near his room and brought Mina with him to investigate. As it turns out, that doorway led to a set of stairs headed towards the roof terrace.
"I'm glad we're partners." Mina said, breaking the silence. Jimin looked at her, surprised. Her eyes reflected the starlight, making them sparkle even more than usual.
He smiled and said "Me too." Their fingers laced together as they turned their attention back up at the stars, still smiling. The stars smiled back.
