From Within The Rubble ~ Part 7

"Tzuyu-ah, go find a seat, we'll take care of this."

              Sana watched Tzuyu weave through the crowd and walk off. She knew Tzuyu was prone to crying, and it would be better for her to sit down somewhere away from the commotion. Although she knew that their youngest needed someone to comfort her, Sana was needed here. 

"She'll want to see us too! Please, we need to talk to her." Nayeon was almost in hysterics. The other members pitched in to support her.

             Sana was getting tired of this. She sighed in sad frustration and stepped off to the side.

"Sana?"

             She whipped around to find the source of the mysterious voice. Behind her was none other than Taehyung, looking just as exhausted as she did.

"Oh. Hello, Sunbae-nim. I suppose you're here to see Jimin?" Sana inquired.

He sighed. "Yeah. I hope he's okay. You're here to see Mina?."

Sana nodded. Just then, they were joined by the other members of BTS. 

"Having trouble getting in?" asked RM. 

"Yeah." she replied.

"They aren't allowing us to see Jimin either. They told us he just left the ICU." 

             Sana realized that they had it worse than she did. Jimin was in critical condition earlier on, while Mina only suffered from lesser injuries. "I hope he gets better." said Sana.

"I hope they both recover quickly." he replied. Sana smiled gratefully.

"Our maknae isn't taking it all too well. She's a bit overwhelmed." Sana mused. Taehyung nodded in agreement.

"Our Jungkookie left to find a place to sit as well. He doesn't show his emotions very often, but this is different." said Taehyung.

"Same with our Tzuyu." she noted. A comfortable silence ensued. Sana wished more than anything that life would resume it's normal routine after all this heartbreak. For both groups.

"Hey, if Mina isn't as hurt as Jimin, shouldn't they be more lenient to let her have visitors?" Taehyung reasoned. "What if we went over and helped you guys?"

Sana thought for a bit. "That... That could work. The more people, the better."

             The seven of them joined Sana's fellow TWICE members at the front desk. Briefly greeting one another, they all demanded to see Mina. It took some time, but eventually the hospital staff gave in to the angry mob they had formed. To stop the arising commotion the idols created, they agreed to wake Mina and alert her of their presence. A staff member quickly left the room to prepare Mina's room for visitors. Sana was delighted. Just as she was about to give up hope, they were able to win the staff over. She turned towards Taehyung.

"Thank you!" Sana exclaimed. 

"No problem." Taehyung replied. He couldn't stop himself from blushing just a little bit. The twelve idols started up their respective conversations, sharing their tough experiences coping with the aftermath of the collapse. Finally, the same member of staff walked over, this time to escort them to Mina's ward.

"She's awake and ready for you guys." he said.

"Sana-ya, go get Tzuyu." Momo called.

"Okay." Sana replied. She was about to run off when she noticed Taehyung sadly look down at his feet. Freezing on the spot, she realized that she really was quite lucky. Taehyung and the other members of BTS still weren't allowed to see Jimin. They would be left with no answers for several hours, perhaps even days. Pity welled up inside her as she placed her hand on his shoulder. "If you want to, you guys can come with us. Mina will tell us all what happened. I'm sure you guys want to know as well."

            Taehyung met her gaze, his eyes lit ablaze with hope. But as quick as it appeared, the light vanished. "No, no... We can't do that. You guys should have time with her. We can't just intrude."

"It's okay, Mina won't mind. You guys are welcome to come along. Right, Jihyo?" Sana inquired.

"Of course." she replied. The five members of BTS smiled gratefully.

"I'll go find Tzuyu and Jungkook then." Sana offered.

"I'll come with you." said Taehyung, who then gave her a sweet smile. They wove between the clusters of patients and doctors until they found the two in an unlikely position. Tzuyu and Jungkook were tangled together in a warm hug, content to stay where they were. Taehyung and Sana exchanged knowing, happy looks. It looked as though their two maknaes were able to finally find comfort and solace in one another.

"Um..." Sana didn't know how to break them up without making things awkward. And so it was. At the sound of her voice, Tzuyu and Jungkook sprung apart, their faces the colour of ripening cherries.

"Hate to ruin the mood, but the hospital staff are finally allowing us to see Mina." Taehyung teased. "So unless you guys want to cuddle some more, I suggest we get a move on."

             Jungkook, who was still bright red in the face, looked confused. "Wait... Us?  We're all allowed? Me too?"

"Yeah, we're all going." Taehyung confirmed. Jungkook nodded, then helped Tzuyu to her feet. Carefully, he guided her through the crowd, Taehyung and Sana following close behind. They rejoined the group and collectively made their way through the halls. It seemed like ages before they arrived, but in the end, they still made it to their desired destination. Sana felt her breathing quicken as her nerves got the best of her. 

           They were finally going to see Mina, after all the time they spent thinking that she had left them for good. She felt the soft pressure of Taehyung's hand grasping hers in an attempt to calm her down. Grateful for his act of concern, she decided to return his kind gesture, interlacing their fingers. Sana took a deep breath as the door opened with a soft click.

Don't worry Mina, we're here. All of us.
