Tzuyu sat alone in the darkness. It had been several hours since everyone else had forced themselves to bed. Tzuyu however, unable to sleep, crept back downstairs. She couldn't bring herself to stop crying as she pondered over the day's events. Tzuyu couldn't believe Mina was... gone. It simply wasn't possible for someone to survive something like that. The more she thought about it, the guiltier she felt.
What if she was able to prevent it all from happening? If somehow, she could've stopped Mina from venturing back for her phone in time for the collapse. If Mina had only waited a couple of minutes. Tzuyu knew that there was no way she could have known what was to come, but she had no one else to blame. And so she blamed herself.
The emotional pain and longing throbbed deep in her stomach. She missed her. Mina was like her big sister, who was always there for her, even in her darkest of times. But not anymore.
According to the dim display of the digital clock in the room, it was merely 3:00 a.m. More to distract herself than anything else, Tzuyu turned on the TV once more, the distinct tear tracks on her face now shining brightly in the artificial light. The television automatically resumed it's broadcast of the news channel they were watching earlier. Oh no... Tzuyu's trembling hands fumbled with the remote, trying desperately to change the channel to something else. Anything but this. It hurt far too much to listen. Tears threatened to spill down her face again, when suddenly, the monotonous voice of the news anchor caught her ears.
In response to the devastating events of yesterday afternoon, Search and Rescue personnel reported several minutes ago that they have found the two missing people caught in the collapse of the Music Bank Studio building. BTS' Park Jimin and TWICE's Myoui Mina were in the building during the time of the collapse and were unable to make it out in time. Both are still alive and suffering from various physical injuries. Park Jimin was reportedly in critical condition, but medical staff assured us that he would survive. Both are active in the entertainment industry and the aftermath of this incident is guaranteed to have negative effects on their respective careers.
Tzuyu's eyes widened as the words registered in her head. Mina was alive. Like lightning, she shut off the TV and woke up all her members. Shaking them impatiently, her voice rose to snap them out of their drowsy, sullen demeanors. "They found her! Mina's okay! Get up! Get up!"
"What?" Nayeon mumbled, groggily.
"They found Mina!" Tzuyu repeated once more. Nayeon sat up with a jolt, all signs of slumber wiped from her face.
"Really!? You're serious?"
Tzuyu nodded in response. They ran from room to room until everyone knew. Within minutes, all eight of them were out the door. They took their manager's car, even without telling her. She would simply tell them to visit Mina in the later hours of morning, which would not suffice. They had to get to the hospital. Now.
It seemed like an entire lifetime had passed before they pulled into the parking lot, then ran out of the crowded car. Running up to the front desk, they urgently requested to visit Mina's ward.
"I'm sorry, we simply can't-" the staff member started.
"Please! We have to-" said Jihyo.
"I'm sorry, miss, but-"
"This is an emergency! Please!" Nayeon begged. Sana caught sight of Tzuyu in the corner of her eye, struggling with impatience and worry. She seemed to be uncomfortable in such a tense argument, as the arising conflict was beginning to make her restless. Of course, Sana immediately felt a surge of sympathy and a certain sense of responsibility over the maknae.
