Mina sighed and tossed her hair out of her eyes. Wiping her hands on her apron, she smiled. She had finally finished cooking a feast large enough to feed the large group of people. With the help of Jihyo, the food was ready and set on the table. After months of hard work, TWICE finally had a week off to themselves, and thus, Mina had quickly arranged a New Years party right after her members felt well-rested enough. In a few minutes, the seven members of BTS would arrive at their front door for dinner and a movie night.
Of course, the other eight TWICE members were feeling a little awkward, considering the fact that they'd never really interacted with BTS before. This could not compare to how awkward Mina herself was feeling. After the last-minute rearrangement of the balloons, their late New Years party preparation was officially complete. Just then, the doorbell rang. As the nine members of TWICE ran to open the door and greet their guests, they heard muffled voices resonate from the other side.
"Why'd you ring it? I'm not ready!"
"What do you mean? You look fine, Kookie!"
"Tae! I need to mentally prepare myself! Girls are scary!"
"So Tzuyu's scary?"
"Well.... Maybe? I th-"
"Cut it out please, the both of you! I told you, Mina said that they were nice people and very fun to be around. Now let's ju-"
"RM, don't drop the cake! Watch what you're doing!"
"Sorry, I was listening to you guys."
"Wait, who let you hold the cake?"
"Not me!"
"Oh for goodness' sakes!... Calm down gu-"
Tzuyu opened the door. "Is everything okay out there?"
"No-I mean, yes! I think..." Jungkook replied. They entered the dorm and greeted everyone. Jimin gave Mina a hug.
"Ooh, a cake!" Jihyo exclaimed.
"We're excited to meet you guys! We hope we'll become very good friends." said Nayeon said, albeit mildly uneasily.
"Same here." said RM.
"Let's eat!" cheered Momo.
As all sixteen of them sat down together, they began to talk and get to know eachother. Soon, the slight awkwardness from before was virtually all gone. The two groups simply clicked together like puzzle pieces. Jimin and Mina, who sat next to each other, held hands underneath the table, smiling. This was going far better than planned. Jeongyeon didn't even confront Jimin about being nice to their Minari.
After about an hour, all the dishes were clean and empty, while the cake was completely devoured. With their stomachs full, everyone gathered around the TV for a movie. Turning off the lights, Nayeon pushed in a DVD. Everyone settled into a comfortable position and began to enjoy themselves. Jimin and Mina were cuddled up on the sofa, wrapped underneath a single blanket. Mina was tucked into Jimin's chest, while he played with her hair. She was the first to fall asleep, and Jimin didn't dare move, so as to not wake her up. He was glad it was dark, as no one gave them teasing or uncomfortable looks.
As time went by and it neared midnight, everyone was out cold, except Jimin. He gazed down at Mina's sleeping face, and for the millionth time, he couldn't help but realize just how pretty she was. Her delicate features were illuminated by the soft caress of moonlight. Before he could stop himself, he leaned down to capture her lips in a soft kiss. To his surprise, she responded. Giggling, they parted and lay there in comfortable silence. After a while, Jimin sighed.
"The moon is full tonight." He said, wistful.
"Do you want to come outside with me?" said Mina.
"Sure." Jimin smiled. They got up from the couch and Mina led the both of them out onto the balcony. Lacing their fingers together, they looked up at the midnight sky.
"Y'know what, Mina? I think TWICE and BTS are going to be friends for a long, long time." Jimin grinned. The day had gone so well and the party had been a success. The two groups were acting as if they'd known each other for years.
"Yeah, I think so too. We can see each other more now!" Mina replied, doing a little celebratory dance. Jimin laughed and pulled her in close.
"Happy New Year, Minari!" He whispered into her ear.
"Happy New Year, Jimin-ie!" She whispered back. Closing the distance between them, Jimin and Mina shared yet another long, meaningful kiss. It was a lifetime before they parted again, but they did so smiling. With their arms enveloping each other in a warm hug, they stared into each other's eyes. The moment would have been perfect, had it not been for the sound emitted from below.
