Beep. . . Beep. . . Beep. . . Beep. . . Beep. . .
Jimin struggled to open his eyes, exposing them to the bright artificial lights that illuminated the room. Once they were pried open, he tried to adjust to the searing pain of looking at the bright, white walls surrounding him. Jimin tried to take in his surroundings, but his vision was oddly blurred. It was as if he'd closed his eyes for a very long time. This was a hospital wing, that much he could tell. Jimin could make out a middle-aged figure moving around the room, as well as notice the darkness of the winter night peeking in through he window.
Blearily, Jimin squinted harder and let out a small grunt. Noticing this, the nurse gasped and rushed to his side, her expressions frantic. Jimin's vision started to clear up, but the pain in his head endured. He could see the nurse's mouth moving, but couldn't register the words she was saying. As he tried to make more sense of his surroundings, a flash of blue caught his eye. Despite the incredulous pain it took to turn his head, he looked at his bedside table to see what he believed to be a crystal penguin figurine. A cute, little... penguin...
Mina.
All the heartfelt, drastic memories of the collapse rushed back to him in a matter of milliseconds. With a painful gasp that scratched at his throat and chest, he remembered. He remembered everything. He remembered her.
Desperately, his arm shot up to reach for the blurry outline of the penguin figurine. But it was all too much. The second he tried to grasp for it, he started to feel dizzy. The world spun around him as he tried to remain conscious. However, his efforts remained futile and his vision began to black out. Jimin caught the blackened outlines of more people rushing in the room. He could finally hear the nurse's voice, calling out "Stay with us, Park Jimin! Don't close your eyes!" But he felt himself doing so anyways. He couldn't help it.
No...
When he opened his eyes again, the bright beams of the mid-day sun were blaring through the window blinds. Groggily, he noticed that he was surrounded by people yet again. They didn't seem to notice his arousal and remained talking restlessly to one another. As his vision cleared, he recognized his own members and even registered the presence of other people, namely females, whom he wasn't very familiar with. With a grunt, he tried to sit up, and was surprised that he could do so without much trouble, much unlike his first awakening. However, the sound he'd just emitted from his mouth alerted the others, who immediately swarmed around him, calling out his name in relief. Jimin smiled at everyone, before the small figurine on his bedside table caught his attention once more. Grabbing the little charm while he could and twirling it between his fingers, his memories of the incident hit him once again with the force of a moving train.
"Mina!" he gasped, his voice coming out a little croaky, tearing at his throat. He started to panic, the frantic look in his eyes demanding answers from those around him. "Where is she? Is she alright? What happened to her? Is she safe? Is she-" The questions spilled out of him, one after the other. He soon realized they'd been calling his name.
"Jimin. Jimin! She's okay! Calm down, she'll be here any minute." Taehyung assured him. "Nayeon just called her. She and Tzuyu were taking a break and resting at home." Jungkook shifted to cast a longing gaze at the door.
Jimin breathed a heaving sigh of relief. He could feel his heart rate gradually slow down to its regular pace.
"Well, um... I suppose we should introduce ourselves" said Jihyo.
