Come on, Jimin. You know it's useless.
For several days, he tried to convince himself that going back was pointless. For the past three months, he'd visited the grove of trees where he and Mina shared their first kiss. Every single day, he grabbed his coat and his face mask by the door and walked briskly towards their precious spot, only to be met with disappointment. Each time, he found that he was still all by himself. It was only around two weeks ago that he began to see sense and stopped hurting himself. Stopped going out at all. He hadn't broken his streak yet. As of now, it had been 14 days and counting.
Jimin sighed as he walked over to his desk and sat down, opening the shallow sliding drawer. He reached in and pulled out several small Polaroid photos. Leaning his cheek on the palm of his left hand, Jimin gazed longingly at the two, happy people smiling up at him. Where did it all go? Did that smile still exist? He was glad that he and Mina took so many photos, as it gave him something to reminisce upon. But, he also wished that they'd taken so many more. By now, Jimin had looked at them all so many times, he'd memorized everything about them. A tear slipped down his cheek, but when he heard the faint sound of footsteps coming closer and closer, he hastily wiped it away. A few seconds later, Jungkook opened the door.
"Hyung? Taehyung and I are going to the convenience store and Hobi hyung is going out for groceries. Do you want anything?"
Jimin put on a faint smile. "No, I'm okay. You guys go ahead. Have fun!"
"Okay. Cheer up, Hyung." Jungkook called before heading out. Jimin nodded in response. He was grateful that Jungkook tried to help him feel better, even if Jungkook himself was pining over someone. He could say the same for most of his members. Once again, he thought about what could've been. If only that photographer hadn't been there. If only no one had ever found out. In a matter of seconds, a part of him had been stripped away. He felt incomplete without her.
Carefully, Jimin placed each photo back in the drawer and grabbed his coat. He decided that he might as well do something useful and head over to the practice room. He hadn't seriously practiced in a long time. Carefully locking the dorm door behind him, he began to walk. It made him almost happy that he was going to dance again. As he approached the room, a strange feeling washed over him. Jimin stopped right where he was, his hand hovering inches away from the doorknob. He suddenly felt as if he shouldn't be here - that there was another place he really needed to be at this very moment. He walked back the way he came and left the building. Jimin followed the same familiar path he followed everyday for the past three months. After several minutes of anticipation he reached the little grove of trees. Ducking between the branches, his eyes fell upon a small figure with her back turned towards him, crouching in the middle of the glade and sobbing quietly, completely unaware that someone had entered. He froze, eyes wide open.
No way.
Mina.
It's Mina.
After all this time, he finally had another chance to see her. To meet her. He could recognize her from a mile away. Wordlessly, Jimin ran forward and embraced her, wrapping his strong arms around her trembling body. She was real. He felt her tense up in surprise, then lean into him. Tears streamed down their cheeks as they tightened their hold on each other. Sprawled there on the ground with Mina in his arms, Jimin finally felt whole once more. They were together. They were complete.
