Audrey and I didn't speak the rest of the class period, instead we gave Mrs. Watson our attention. The class dragged on for what seemed like forever, but maybe it was because I was so anxious to get out of the room.
I didn't really know what to think of what Audrey had told me. Were her and Luke already dating during camp? I didn't ask her because for some reason, I thought it would be rude. But I literally could not get them out of my head. I still had small feelings for Luke, I couldn't deny that. No matter how hard I tried to make my feelings go away, they stayed and I absolutely hated it.
"What lunch do you have?" Audrey asked as she followed me down the hallway, her books clutched tightly to her chest. The bell had just rang and as badly as I wanted to get away from her, I didn't want to hurt her feelings.
"A lunch."
"Me too." She squeeled, "You can sit with me and Luke if you want."
"That's okay," I said quickly, not liking her offer at all. I could not sit with them, that would the most awkward situation. "You don't have to do that."
"Its fine," Audrey waved me off, "Besides, you're new, you don't want to sit alone, do you?" Before I could reply, Audrey gave me thumbs up and spoke quickly, "I have to get to my locker. Luke's probably waiting for me. But I'll meet you at the cafeteria entrance after second period, okay?" Audrey turned and walked away from me, leaving me in the middle of the crowded hallway.
I sighed and ran a hand through my hair, frustrated that the only new friend I had made was my ex-almost boyfriend's girlfriend. And she was forcing me to sit with them at lunch.
I slowly made my way to science class, hoping that the slower I walked, the more time it would be until lunch.

"So, what was your last school like?" Audrey asked as she took a bite of her pizza. I didn't get anything to eat, the food didn't look too appetizing.
"It was less crowded." I shrugged as I looked around the cafeteria. There were lots of kids on A lunch. Luke hadn't joined us yet and I was seriously hoping that he wouldn't.
"You'll get used to it." Audrey nodded, "This school has a lot of students but it's really not that bad."
"I'd rather not get trampled over on my way to class."
Audrey laughed. "Stop exaggerating."
"I really don't think I'm..." My voice trailed off as I looked behind Audrey and saw Luke approaching. He held a tray of food in his hands and when he made eye contact with me, he froze. I finally took in his appearance and I was actually shocked. He was wearing color, a blue shirt, but he was wearing black skinnies. I just stared at him for a few seconds before returning back to Audrey and finishing what I was saying. "I really don't think I'm exaggerating. The amount of students here isn't normal."
"It's just-oh hey." Audrey cut herself off as Luke sat down his tray beside of her. She looked up at him and smiled brightly, him returning one back to her. They gave each other a quick kiss on the lips and I looked away."This is Caroline."
"I know," Luke nodded. I stared at him weirdly for a minute, wondering if he was going to tell her that we already knew one another. Then I remembered that we had the same first period. "Hi, Caroline."
"Hi, Luke." I said shortly, making eye contact with him yet again. His eyes looked apologetic, and also pleading.
"Where did you move here from?" Audrey questioned.
"Kentucky."
"You don't sound like you're from the south." Audrey cocked her head to the side. I shrugged.
