"You didn't know he had a girlfriend?" I questioned Calum, who I happened to skyping at the moment. It was now Wednesday, two days since I had started school. I hadn't spoke to Calum because he had been busy at work, he had gotten a job at some kind of clothing store in Chicago, which is where he lived. Over the past couple of days, Audrey had asked me to sit with her and Luke again but I refused. I did not want to sit with him. I hadn't made any other friends so far but it was only my first week, I seriously sound like a loser though.

"If I knew he had girlfriend, don't you think I would have told you?" Calum rolled his eyes. He was lying on his bed, propped up by his elbow. He was also shirtless, I had asked him multiple times to put on a shirt but he wouldn't.

"I mean, you are his friend, though." I shrugged.

"I'm not like that, Caroline. You know that." Calum shook his head, "I would have told you."

"I know," I sighed, "It's just that all of this was so unexpected. He has a girlfriend and has for a year, turns out that he's a jerk. I didn't see any of this coming. It's almost like I don't even know him. "

Calum sighed and shook his head again. "Same here."

"I'm sorry, Calum. I didn't mean to upset you."

"Nah," Calum said, "It's just something I thought that he would tell me, ya know?" I nodded. I could tell he was having a hard time wrapping his head around the idea just like I had when I first found out. "Its like everything he's ever told me could be a lie. He does seem to do that a lot."

"Do you think that story he told you was true?" I bit my lip. I wasn't sure if I should bring it up, Calum and I were the only ones that knew out of Luke's friends. I wasn't technically his friend, but still.

"I don't know," Calum looked over his laptop suddenly and I heard someone talking. I figured someone had walked into his room so I stayed quiet. "No." Calum said to the person. Calum's faced stayed blank as his eyes trailed back to me.

"Everything okay?"

"It was just James. Him and Mali are here." Calum sighed deeply. I didn't know if something had happened between Calum and James and that's why he hated him, but I did know that he hated him with a passion. Usually brothers do hate their sister's boyfriend but with Calum, there seemed to be something different. "I think I need to go. I'll call you later."

"Be nice." I told him.

"I can't make any promises." Calum disconnected and I closed my laptop.

My whole family was sat at the dinner table. No one was talking, as normal. The only sound was the clatter of our spoons and forks hitting our plates as we scaped up our food.

"How was everyone's day?" My father asked suddenly and we all stopped what we were doing to look at him. We all held the same expression, shock. Even my mom looked a little surprised.

"Well, I cleaned all day." My mom shrugged, "The usual." Though my mom was a stay at home mom, she wasn't lazy about it. The woman stayed on her feet all day, she never stopped.

"Mine was good." Dana chirped, "I made a new friend. Her name is Jackie."

My dad nodded. No one else said anything and he stared at us, waiting for us to say something.

"I met a girl, too." Kyle finally spoke. "We have Chemistry together. God, she's gorgeous. She wears glasses and they make her look so smart. She's gave me her number and everything. She's older but I don't think that really matters." Kyle looked starstruck by this girl and I couldn't help but smile at how cute it was.

"How old is she?" My mom asked, concern in her voice.

"Seventeen." Kyle shrugged.

"Seventeen?" Halle scrunched her face up, "She's old." I wanted to remind her that I was seventeen and that is was not old, but I stayed quiet.

"What's her name, son?" My dad took a bite of his casserole.

"Audrey."

None of this was supposed to happen i had camp planned differently

Elizabeth was supposed to be kissing Jude that night and camp was supposed to end with luke and caroline being together and caroline promising to come back next summer, but what's the fun in that? I saw all of your comments and you were saying that it was jude she was kissing and that you hoped it wasn't luke so i decided to fuck with your heads and make elizabeth and luke kiss instead
