Before I could even open my eyes the next morning, there a pounding in my head. I brought my hand up slowly and pressed two fingers to my temple, rubbing small circles. I couldn't remember anything after coming to Luke's room, and that was not a good thing.
I slowly opened my eyes and was practically blinded by the light of the room I was in. I groaned and covered my eyes with my hand. I tried to get up, but something was restricting me. There was pressure on my stomach and as I reached for it, I felt that it was an arm. I quickly opened my eyes, not even caring about the light anymore, and turned my head to see who was in the bed with me.
Luke's face was only a few inches away from mine, his mouth slightly agape as he slept. He had no shirt on, and I suddenly became sick to my stomach. I pushed Luke's arm off of me and jumped out of the bed. There was a door at the far end of his room and I prayed that it was a bathroom. I ran over to it and swung the door open, and to my relief, it was a bathroom. I went in and croouhed in front of the toilet just in time, as the contents of my stomach began to pour out. I sat there for about three minutes puking, until there was nothing left in my stomach. I sighed heavily and leaned against the bathtub in the bathroom, my head rested in my hands.
I had no idea what had happened between Luke and I the night before. I still had on my dress and underwear, so I figured it couldn't have been anything too bad. But Luke was shirtless, so obviously something had happened, I just didn't know what. I was so stupid to get drunk with Luke, especially since we were alone in his room.
And Audrey, I could only imagine how she would feel if she knew. I was such a horrible friend. Sure, I hadn't been truthful about knowing Luke and having a thing with him, but this was worse. I knew about her now, and I had betrayed her. I felt disgusted with myself.
"You okay?" I looked up abruptly and saw the blonde boy standing in the doorway, his shirt still missing. I felt awkward, not because his shirt was off, but because of the previous events that had taken place. Whatever it was that took place.
"What time is it?" I asked shortly, no emotion in my voice.
"Almost five a.m." Luke said, his voice just as emotionless as mine.
"Shit," I cursed as I stood from the bathroom floor, "I need to be home before my dad leaves for work." I pushed past Luke and walked back into his bedroom.
"I'll drive you home." Luke proposed, following behind me.
"No, thank you." I spoke harshly, walking to Luke's bedroom doorway and starting down the stairs.
"Caroline!" Luke's voice called a I was halfway down. I let out a ragid breath, my head spinning slightly as I did. "You don't remember last night, do you?" He said it in a way that showed he was hoping I didn't, and I honestly didn't.
I turned around and glared at him, "No, but I have a feeling you do." Luke swallowed hard and then nodded slowly.
"Well, I'm glad I don't remember it. I don't want to." I spat. Luke's expression changed suddenly, and I couldn't quite recognize the emotion.
"I'll see you later, Caroline." Luke mumbled as he walked away from the doorway, going farther into his room. I rolled my eyes and finished walking down the stairs, opening the door at the bottom and stepping out.
I walked down the hall until I reached the next set of stairs and made my way down them also. The music had stopped and most everyone was cleared out, except for a few people who were passed out around the house.
I honestly had no idea how I was getting home, I could ask Calum but I had no idea where he was. As I turned the corner to walk onto the living room, I bumped into someone. I stumbled a little but regained myself.
"Caroline!" The person exclaimed and as I adjusted my eyes, I seen that it was Ashton. He had a blue bandana around his head, pushing his wavy hair back from his face. "How are you? It's been-"
"Can you take me home?" I didn't resitate to get the words out of my mouth, I just wanted to go home. I couldn't even be excited to see Ashton at the moment, and seemed sober enough to drive.
"Uh, sure." Ashton seemed confused, but didn't question me, "Let me get Luke's keys." He walked off from me and I walked out the front door, decoding to wait for him on the porch. Which was a bad decision because I now had a really bed headache as I was freezing my ass off. It was also still dark out and it was creepy out.
Ashton came out a few minutes later, keys in his hand. "Let's go." I followed him to Luke's car and we climbed inside. As soon as he cranked the car, the heated came out of the vents and I sighed in relief.
I gave Ashton directions to my house, and he kept trying to ask me what was wrong but I wouldn't spill. I didn't want anyone to know what happened because hell, I didn't even know what happened. Nonetheless, I felt ashamed.
Ashton pulled up in front of my house and we bid each other goodbye, not stealing a second glance at one another. I felt like if I looked him in the eye, he would know. Know that I had done something I wasn't supposed to.
I walked up the walk to my house and as I approached the steps that led to my porch, I saw a figure in front of the door, desperately trying to wedge a key in the door.
It was faintly dark out, the sun just beginning to rise, so I couldn't make out who it was. But considering that they had a key, I knew it was someone I knew.
I cleared my throat and the person dropped their key, turning around and staring at me. I squinted my eyes and and tilted my head in confusion as I saw who the person was.
"Kyle, what are you doing?"
