My mom didn't yell at me as bad as I thought she would. She did tell me that I was being irresponsible by riding around in the car with a strange boy. I tried to object but there wasn't much of a fight because Luke was in fact strange. Kyle stood by the sidelines and munched on an apple as he watched my mom and I fuss. He seemed to enjoy it, and honestly I wanted to strangle him for it. My mom went on and on about how I needed to think through my decisions more thoroughly and how I needed to stay away from Luke. Long story short, I was grounded for a week, which meant no internet and no television.
I didn't see why my mom treated me like such a child. I would be eighteen in a couple of months, I could make my own decisions. She needed to focus on her kids who were actually still children.
"Can you go out tonight?" Audrey appeared in the desk beside me, causing me to jump. I hadn't even seen her come in the classroom. Her blonde hair was up in a ponytail for once and she actually looked better with her hair up.
"No," I said slowly, trying to recover from my mini heart attack, "I'm grounded, and even if I wasn't I still wouldn't be able to. Why?"
"There's some party going on at my neighbor's house. Do you know Patrick Willis?" I shook my head. "Well, it's his party and he invited me. Luke and I are going and I thought you might like to come."
"I don't know.." I had never snuck out before, only at camp. We never got caught but that was different, my parents weren't a few doors down.
"Aw, come on." A voice said from the other side of Audrey and I noticed Luke sitting in the desk beside her, "I'm sure you've snuck out before." A smirk appeared on his face. I wanted to reach over and smack him so hard.
I squinted my eyes at him. "How the hell am I supposed to sneak out of a two-story house?"
"You can jump from the window, your house isn't that tall."
Audrey furrowed her brows and turned to Luke. "How do you know her house isn't tall?" Luke's eyes grew wide and he opened his mouth before shutting it again. I laughed internally, I had never seen Luke so nervous.
"I just assumed." Luke shrugged awkwardly.
"Hm." Audrey turned back to me and rolled her eyes. Apparently she was used to Luke being weird. "Anyways, you should sneak out. We won't let you get caught." She smiled brightly at me.
"Yeah, we won't let you get caught." I glared at Luke and then gave Audrey a warm smile.
"Okay, sure."

I didn't know why I had agreed to go to that stupid party. I didn't even know anyone at the school and that was mostly going to be the only people there. I would be alone, I had a feeling that Luke and Audrey were going to be eating each others faces off the whole time.
I just wanted the day to be over with, I wanted to go home and not have to go anywhere else for the day. Its pretty crazy how I always wanted to get out of the house and now that I'm actually doing it, I was dreading it.
I was on my way to lunch, which was where I had to be faced with Luke and Audrey again. I didn't mind Audrey, but Luke was a different story. He irritated me so much, I didn't know how Audrey put up with him. Oh, that's right, she didn't know the real him. But boy, do I wish she did.
As I was making my way to lunch I was pulled into a janitor's closet. I didn't even know what was happening, one minute I walking and the next, I was being being pulled by the arm.
"What the..?" I said as I was pulled into the dark room, awaiting for whoever had pulled me in to reveal their face. The light in the room suddenly came on, blinding me. As my eyes adjusted, I saw who I should known it was in the first place.
"Why do you always pull me places? Can't you just ask nicely?" I crossed my arms over my chest.
Luke scoffed. "I just wanted to ask you a question."
"What?" I sighed. I didn't like being in such a small space with Luke. I barely had room to move, we were pretty close to one another.
"Do you need me to pick you up tonight?"
I stared at Luke blankly, "You pulled me into a janitor's closet to ask me that?"
"No," Luke licked his lips, "I pulled you in here to do this." Luke leaned in and I started to panic because I couldn't push him away this time, I had nowhere to push him. The room was too small.
Luke stopped suddenly and pulled away, a laugh escaping his lips. "You should have seen your face."
"I hate you," I glared at him, "I really do." I had never wanted to punch anyone in the face so bad. It was getting out of hand, how much I wanted to physically hurt Luke.
"Yeah," Luke sighed, a smile still on his face, "You're not the only girl that's ever told me that."
"I bet."
"But seriously, do you need a ride to the party?" Luke asked, chewing on his lip ring.
"Since I don't know where the party is, yes." I nodded. I was hoping that he would just say okay so that we could leave. Not only was the closet small, it was smelly. That's not what happened.
Luke leaned in again and I just knew that he was going to kiss me this time. But instead of his lips coming toward mine, they went in the direction of my ear.
"Where something nice." Luke whispered, his hot breath fanning the side of my face. He pulled away again and laughed yet again. "That look on your face, though. I should do that more often."
Luke opened the closet door and stepped out, still laughing about the previous incident. The hallway was empty, much to my amazement. I followed behind Luke and smacked him on the back of the head, finally getting that out of my system. Luke winced and turned around to looked at me as he rubbed the spot I hit.
"You're a bitch." Luke frowned as we walked through the cafeteria doors.
"And you're an ass. I guess we're even."
