I just picked some random picture of a random baby because I couldn't find the perfect one but all babies are adorable so it's fine.

Ariana

Monday, 4:16 pm

"Belle's getting her ears pierced?" Aviella asks.

"She is. I might even let you pick out her earrings."

"Really, mommy? Can I?"

"I said might, babe."

"You're so evil, Ariana." Justin says as we walk in the jewelry store.

"Don't touch anything, ice cream hands." I say.

"I won't." Aviella continues eating her ice cream and a woman walks up to us.

"Hello. How may I help you?"

"We want to get her ears pierced."

"How old is she?"

"2 and a half months. I know she's small."

"Great! Let me go get everything I need and you guys can just take a seat right there."

She points to the bench where Aviella has made herself comfortable with her ice cream. I sit down next to her and Justin stays standing, even though there's plenty of room for him to sit down.

"I don't want to see my lady bug get hurt." Justin takes Bella out of her stroller and gives her to me.

She's smiling and laughing now, but she won't be in a couple minutes.

"Mommy, I like those."

Aviella points to a pair of pink diamond earrings that are $310.

"Because they're pink?"

"And shiny!" She beams.

I laugh as Justin takes her empty ice cream cup to a trash can by the door.

"I like them too. They're beautiful."

"And very expensive." Justin adds.

"Oh well. She has to keep them in for six months anyway. I think they're worth $300."

"$310." Justin corrects.

"Same thing." I say.

"I agree with mommy." Aviella says.

"Well, it's 2-1. Looks like we'll be getting those. That wasn't very difficult at all." I smile and Justin rolls his eyes.

"It's okay. I'll use my card so, technically you won't be spending money."

"You have fun with that."

Justin takes out his phone, probably to play that stupid game he loves so much.

"Alrighty. Whose ready to get their ears pierced?" The woman returns with her ear piercing materials and I smile.

"What's her name?"

"Bella McKinzey. (Yes I changed how her middle name is spelled)

"That is an adorable name for an adorable little girl."

The woman, whose name I learn is Sierra, starts cleaning Bella's ears, which she hates. Of course, because she hates it when anyone touches her face, including me and Justin.

"I know you don't like this. I'm sorry." Serra says.

"Okay, this is the worst part. Turn her head the other way, please."

Aviella starts doing a bunch of nonsense that causes Bella to smile and giggle, that is until Sierra pokes a hole in her ear. Then she starts crying.

"I know, babe. I'm sorry."

Serra moves to the other side and quickly does the same thing, which causes Bella to cry harder. Thankfully, there's no one else in here. Justin takes Bella from me, whispering that he's gonna go outside, and Aviella follows him.

"I noticed you already saw some you liked. Which ones were they?"

"The pink diamond studs."

"Those would look great on her." Serra goes behind the counter and takes the earrings from the display case.

"The ones that her ears were actually pierced with are only $30. Then these are $310. I can also give you some small golden hoops for just $50."

"I'll take it."

"Now, remember to clean them twice everyday with this. And keep them in for at least six months." Serra places a bottle of some type of solution on the counter along with the two sets of earrings.

"I'll do that."

"Good. This first bottle is free, and you can get more from pretty much any store. Also from here."

"Great."

"Your total will be $400.23." I nod, inserting my card in the chip reader.

I type my pin in as well before taking the card out and putting it back in my wallet.

"Thank you." I say before leaving, my tiny bag in my hand.
