Ariana

Saturday, 8:03 pm

"Ariana, your baby is drooling all over her face and your hair." Justin says.

"What are you talking about?"

"Your baby is drooling. A lot."

"That's nice. Can I sleep now?"

"If you want, but your hair has a lot of baby saliva in it. Just saying."

"Are you forcing me to take a shower?"

"No, I'm just telling you."

"Well now I want to take a shower, or at least wash my hair."

"You do that. I'll just watch the drooling baby."

"Where did all that come from anyway?"

"I don't know. I'll just keep her satisfied by sucking on my finger because that's what she's doing right now."

I nod, getting out of bed and stretching. Of course, my husband has to watch me walk into the bathroom because he's scared that I'll slip and fall and break my face... Or something like that. I turn on the shower because I have to take a shower anyway.

8:48 pm

After I got out of the shower, Justin and his daughters were on the bed watching, surprise, surprise, Shopkins. That was most definitely Aviella's doing.

"Mommy, come watch Shopkins with us!" Aviella says.

"Yeah, in just a second." I walk back into the bathroom and occupy myself on my phone for at least ten minutes, until Justin walks in.

"You sneaky little beautiful woman." He says.

I laugh and he walks over to the counter I was leaning against, wrapping his arms around my waist.

"I thought you were gonna say something else."

"I knew you would, but I would never call my Queen that."

"You've done it before."

"I know I have. But I won't do it again." Justin kisses my forehead and I smile, burying my head in his neck.

"Is Aviella asleep yet?" I ask.

"Not yet. Almost. I can tell she's tired. I don't think she slept much when we were asleep, if she even slept at all."

I pull away from his neck and he leans down, planting a gentle kiss on my lips.

"I love you." He whispers.

"Love you too. Now kiss me again." He smiles before leaning down to kiss me again, a little longer this time.

When he pulls away, he grabs my hand and we walk into the bedroom. Aviella's eyes are indeed half closed, but she's still hanging on. Bella is wide awake, still sucking on that hand of hers. I don't know why she keeps doing that, or why she just started drooling so much all of a sudden.

When I tell this to Justin, he tells me to look it up. Of course he does, because he doesn't know anything. I still listen to him, though, and type both of those things into Google.

I click on the first thing I see, and once I read the article, I discover that my baby is teething.

"She's too young for that!" I tell Justin.

"She's growing up, baby."

"No, she is not. She will stay a baby forever and that is final."

"I would love to agree with you, but we all know that's not gonna happen."

"Baby, stop growing up. You're too young to grow up. Why is she almost four months old?" I ask.

"Because she was born on March 27th and it's almost July 27th. That's four months." Justin tells me, stroking my hair.

Bella was still satisfied with her hands, but I was not satisfied with Aviella being half asleep in my bed. I was sitting in Justin's lap, which we were both perfectly fine with, but I wasn't gonna sleep there.

After ten years, Aviella finally goes to sleep and Justin takes her into her room. I lay down next to Bella, watching her play with her hands until Justin returns. He lays down on the other side of Bella and we both go to sleep early that night, since we barely slept last night and we only napped for an hour or so.
