There's three knocks on the door and Justin goes to answer it while I wake up Aviella. The police are more than likely going to want to talk to her about what she saw and/or heard.

"Avi, there's gonna be some people here to talk to you. I want you to answer their questions to the best of your ability, okay?" She nods sleepily and I take her into the living room, where Justin is talking to two police officers. One woman and one man.

"Is this Aviella?" The woman asks.

"Yes. She just woke up, so if you want to talk to her, it might take a while."

"That's fine." The man says.

"Aviella, I'm officer Jones, and this is my partner, officer Harris. We're just gonna ask you a few questions. Is that alright?" The woman says.

Aviella just stares at them.

"Okay. Can you describe to me what you heard in your room?"

"Someone knocked on my window then I heard a man say 'go hide'. It was coming from my closet." Aviella tells them.

"Did you see anyone in your room?"

"No, but I think I heard something outside my window. Like footsteps."

"Your room is on the second floor, correct?" Officer Harris asks.

"Yeah."

"Is there a way to get to Aviella's window from the ground? Like roof access or something?" He asks Justin.

"There's like an area on the side of the house where you can get on the roof and walk to her window."

"Can you take us there?"

"Yeah, of course." I follow Justin as he leads the officers to the side of the house.

Officer Harris goes on top of the roof to look around for anything, but finds nothing.

"Can we go to Aviella's room? I just want to look around." Officer Jones asks.

Justin takes them upstairs and I stay in the living room with Aviella.

"Mama?" Aviella says.

"Yeah, baby?"

"There's a man at the door." She says slowly.

I look at the door, which has been left open, to see a man dressed in all black, who disappears into the night as soon as I see him.

"Justin!" I scream.

It takes him less than two seconds to get down the stairs.

"What, baby girl?"

"There was a man just standing in the door. He was wearing all black and he just ran away as soon as I saw him."

Officer Jones and Officer Harris both go outside, shining their flashlights on everything, but finding nothing.

"Okay. Here's what we'll do." Officer Harris says.

"We will be back tomorrow to look around some more and ask the neighbors some questions, but for now, make sure all your windows and doors are locked, and try to get some sleep." He finishes.

"Thank you, officer." Justin says.

He closes and locks the door behind them. I take Aviella to the bedroom and lay her in our bed. There's no way she would sleep in her room, and I wasn't gonna let her sleep there, either. I sit with her for a couple of minutes before looking for Justin, who hadn't returned to the room since the cops left.

I find him in the kitchen, bottles of Vodka and orange juice on the island.

"Really, Justin?" I ask, an amused smirk on my face.

"Shut up." He laughs, taking a sip of the thick orange liquid in his glass.

He holds his hand out and I walk towards him, taking the glass from him.

"Thank you, sir." I giggle, downing the last of his drink.

"You're welcome, I guess." He says.

I pour orange juice into the glass and drink it before giving it back to him. He makes another one of his concoctions and we take turns taking sips from it.

"What did that man you saw look like?" Justin asks me.

"I don't know. I barely saw him for two seconds before he left. But he was definitely white and I think he had black hair."

"Are you sure he had black hair or did it just look black because it was dark?"

"I told you I'm not sure. But, now that you've gotten me a quarter of the way to being drunk, I am tired and I'm going to sleep."

I take one last sip of the liquid from his cup and turn Around, walking back into the bedroom and getting into bed with Aviella.
