"Mommy, Bella keeps sticking her tongue out at me." Aviella says.
"She's not sticking her tongue out at you, princess." Justin says.
"Then why does it keep coming out of her mouth in my direction?"
"Babe, Bella didn't know she had a tongue until this morning. Now she's playing with it."
"Bella didn't know she had a tongue?"
"Nope. She had to find it herself."
"Did I have to find my tongue?"
"Yes, you did. We all had to."
"What about daddy?"
"He had to find his tongue as well. Aviella, everyone in this entire world had to find their own tongue. That's part of them growing up."
"Bella's growing up!?"
"Yes, Aviella. She has to, even though we don't want her to. She will actually be four months old on July 27th." (Ignore my stupidity. I've been saying Bella is still two months but she is not, she's actually three months and one week so, magically, Bella has learned a bunch of new stuff that a three month old should know)
"When's her birthday?"
"March 27th."
"Hey! That's a bunch months after mine!"
"Actually, it's a bunch of months before yours. It's five months before yours to be exact. You two are six years and five months apart."
"Cool! That means Belle will be five months old when I turn seven."
"That is correct. You are amazing at math."
"Thanks, mama."
Aviella starts coloring her menu because apparently, that's the only thing she knows how to do at restaurant. And watch Netflix on someones phone.
The waiter, Jason, comes back with our drinks, placing the correct drinks in front of the correct person. Aviella got strawberry lemonade, Justin got orange juice and I got water with a lemon.
"Daddy, will you play tic tac toe with me?" She asks.
"Of course I will."
Justin and Aviella start playing tic tac toe on her menu and I watch Bella stick her tongue in and out of her mouth then suck on her hands, then repeat.
I thought it was the cutest thing ever, but I think everything she does is the cutest thing ever. I'm her mom, that's want I'm supposed to do.
10:27 am
Jason comes back with our food. Waffles for Aviella, omelettes for Justin, and French toast for me.
"Who's ready for a beach with black sand?" Justin asks as we start to eat.
"Me!" Aviella says, her mouth already full of waffles, blueberries, and raspberries.
"How do you start eating that fast?" I ask her.
She just shrugs and continues to eat. Hopefully she doesn't choke because she obviously doesn't know how to chew and swallow her food before she takes another bite.
I eat my French toast, having to balance Bella on my lap while doing so. It's not hard though. I've gotten used to it since she was born. I could probably perform open heart surgery with her on my hip.
11:18 am
"Is my family ready to go? We should be there by 12 pm. If we leave now."
"You seem to be in a rush, husband. Why?"
"What are you talking about? I'm not in a rush."
"Whatever. Come on, Avi!" Aviella runs out of her room with Tommy in her hand.
"I'm ready!"
"Good. Let's go." Justin says.
He picks her up, grabbing the keys to the rental car before we leave the room. The elevator takes us to the lobby and we leave the hotel, walking to the car.
I put Bella in her car seat before getting in the passenger.
After he puts his seatbelt on, Justin turns the car on and makes his way out of the parking lot. He said the drive was about forty five minutes, and before we even get on the highway, Aviella tells me that Bella is asleep.
"That's great. Now she won't cry."
Aviella was watching a movie on her iPad while I did my usual thing on my phone. Justin, of course, was driving.
