Arka moved his piece of chess lazily. He was playing against Denish and his friend had been lost over and over again.
"Checkmate!!" Arka announced flatly.
Denish groaned in annoyance, messing his own hair with his hands.
"What?? Again?? Jeez, it's impossible! How could you win this game for eight times in a row??" Denish protested.Arka rolled his eyes. "Well, I'm so sorry for being a genius."
Denish narrowed his eyes suspiciously.
"Hm... You must be cheated."Arka tsked his tongue and smacked his friend's head. "You are defeated. Accept that!"
Denish pouted a bit. "Jeez, you don't have to do that, you know! Thank goodness Arkana is not as rude as you."
"Wow, Denish! You have no idea how my sister is. Try to mess with her and she will kick your ass." Arka said.
That was true. Gemma might be looked calmer and gentler than him but she was definitely more dangerous and scarier.
"Seriously?" Denish asked. "You shouldn't told me that you know! I am trying to win her heart here."
Arka snorted loudly. "What do you mean 'try'? I never saw you trying anyway."
"I use a secret technique." Denish said, gaining another slap from Arka, right on the back of his head.
"Whatever! I will go to Mr. Yatha's place. Yesterday he said he needs extra man to finish an order." Arka said as he raised to his feet.
Denish sighed, did the same as Arka.
"Oh, alright then. I have to go too. My mother probably has waited for me to go to the market. She will turn to monster if I keep her waiting any longer."Arka chuckled lightly, putting on his coat and patting the dust stuck on it. "You describe your mom too much, Denish. Be grateful! At least, you still have parents to worry about you."
"Yeah! Hey, You have Arkana." Denish said.
Arka cringed a bit. "I know. But Gemma is not someone I wish to worry too much about me. She's my little sister, not my parents, Denish. Sometimes, I wish she stops thinking about me, taking care of me. I mean...I'm the big brother here."
"Well, you're just six minutes older than her, Arka. It's not that old." Denish denied, trying to cheer up his friend.
"Wipe that smug expression from your face!""Yeah, you got the point. I really have to go. See you tomorrow, Denish." Arka said, laughing.
"And I haven't approved you to get closer to my sister!!!" He added, shouting to Denish from some distance.Arka took the way he already passed for years, ignoring how Denish's face looked like. When he was about to pass the market belongs to Nina. Arka avoided it and climbed the nearest building.
He used the roofs as his way.
It was not because he didn't like the lady but Nina always gave him her speech every time she saw him and it never ended in five minutes.
Arka didn't have a time for that so he just took the alternative route. It didn't need a long time for him to arrive at Mr. Yatha's place.
Unlike what he said to Denish before, the place was empty instead of filled with workers.
Even the fire on the furnace had been turned off.Arka walked inside the workshop and knocked a door. A minute later, the door was opened and a middle-aged man stood against the door frame.
"I thought you wouldn't come today, Arka."
