"Arkana!!! Happy birthday!!!!"
Gemma laughed excitedly as her eyes stared at a cake in Denish's hands. If you can describe it as cake.
The thing had no shape and the frosting spread around the cake unevenly.
Beside, in one side, the cake was empty like someone else had taken the piece of the cake for himself.
But still, Denish had a good intention and Gemma appreciated that."That's a cake right?" Gemma asked doubtfully but her lips still couldn't hold her smile.
Denish rolled his eyes. "Of course it's a cake. I asked my mom to make it. What do you think it is?"
Gemma shook her head, grinning widely as she walked toward him. "Naah, just make sure it's really a cake."
She wiped her hands on her clothes since she just finished washing the dishes from her and Arka's dinner last night.
"Wow, it's a great cake! I see someone has tasted it." She said, stared at the empty gap wickedly.Denish pursed his lips a bit. "It's my sister. I've told her specifically to not touch it but..well, you see what happened."
Gemma chuckled. "She's six, Denish. What do you expect?"
She took the cake from Denish and sat on the floor along with the cake.
Remember! Arka and Gemma didn't have a fancy dining room. She placed the cake carefully on the floor while Denish took a knife, spoons and a few small plates.
"Are you going to make a wish, Arkana?" Denish asked after he joined Gemma on the floor.
She raised her eyebrow. "Huh? Do I have to make one?"
Denish dropped his jaw. "Don't tell me you never celebrate your birthday!"
Gemma smiled sadly as she shook her head. She never really had a birthday party. The fanciest birthday she ever had was when her mother gave her a new dress and that was at her six birthday.
After the thing with her father. Arka and Gemma never thought something like birthday party as an important thing to do. It's family thing and it's been a while since the last time they had it.That's why when Denish showed up this morning with this cake, Gemma couldn't hold her happiness.
"Hey! Why do you guys have to be so loud?"
Gemma and Denish looked up to found Arka just woke up from his sleep. His hair was messy and he narrowed his eyes, still sleepy.
Gemma smiled, pointed at the cake.
"Denish brought us cake." She said.On his spot, Denish dropped his jaw again. "Oh, right! I forgot it's your birthday too, Arka."
Arka snorted as he walked down the stairs. "What? Do you forget that Gemma and I are twins?"
"Nooo!" Denish said. "But I only remember Arkana when I brought this cake and..Uh..Well, happy birthday then." He said, forced a grin on his face.
Arka rolled his eyes and sat beside his sister.
"Wow, thank you very much, Denish! I'm so happy!" He said though his face was flat.Denish punched Arka on his forearm playfully. "Hey, it's your birthday! Cheer up, dude!"
"Yeah, yeah. Can we please eat the cake then?" Arka asked, moved to take the knife.
Gemma stopped him. "According to Denish, we have to make a wish first." She explained when Arka stared at her in confusion.
