Gemma and Kegan just entered the meeting hall when suddenly someone attacked her. The person didn't hesitate to pushed her hard and grabbed her neck.
She wasn't ready for the sudden move and Gemma found her back hitting the marble floor hardly. The person squeezed her neck and whoever the person was, Gemma felt something heavy pinned her body down, made her unable to move.

"WHAT THE--"

"KIERA!!! LET HER GO!!"

Gemma heard Kegan and Arnev shouted loudly at the same time and the weight suddenly gone from her.
She gasped, coughed in relieve when she finally could supply her lungs with air again

Someone pulled Gemma up from the floor and she felt a pair of hands grabbed her face.
Gemma didn't know who was it. She was closing her eyes, hold her tears from falling. The pain on her neck was stung so badly and Gemma lied her forehead at the person's chest. Her hands went to her neck, hoped the pain would be gone soon.

The air filled with a woman's shouts and curses and a few men's voices, tried to calm the woman.

"Control yourself, Lady Kiera or I'll send the guard to drag you out!"

Kegan. It's Kegan in front of her. He yelled the words in annoyance. Gemma gripped his front robe as she slowly opened her eyes.
A few feet away from her, Arnev and Kay were trying to calm a woman who struggled wildly. She demanded them to let her go and Gemma knew what was she going to do if they released her.

Arnev knew better than to let her free. He cursed under his breath when Kiera hit his jaw with her elbow.
"Kiera!!!! Stop it!!!" Arnev growled.

"Don't tell me to stop, cousin!!!! She killed my brother!!!" Kiera snapped at him.

"I've told you it's not her, Kiera." Arnev said again, tried to keep himself calm when he had to deal with her.

"But she is his sister!! She's lying!!! She knows where her brother is! Let me go!!! I'll make her talk!"

Okan made a move since Kiera refused to obey her cousin. He stood up from his chair and hugged Kiera from behind, his fat and weight body succeed to lock her arms.
Kiera growled.
"Oi, Fat!!!! Get off me!!!!" She said, moved her body but Okan was stronger and a moment later, Kiera groaned in desperation and stopped moving. She panted hard while her eyes glared angrily at Gemma.

Arnev rubbed his jaw. Kiera elbowed him pretty hard.
He turned his head to look at Gemma and watched Kegan was examining her neck.
Arnev felt so guilty seeing red mark on her skin.

Gemma sighed deeply as she moved further from Kegan, closed her bruise with her palm. She lifted up her gaze and her hazel met Arnev's ocean eyes.

"Are you alright?" Arnev asked her.

Gemma nodded though Arnev saw she still flinched when she tried to move her neck.

"What a lovely cousin you have!" Kegan murmured darkly. He stared at Kiera sharply, like he was ready to throw her out anytime.

Arnev sighed a bit. "Yes, she is. Please, forgive her. Prince Nate was her brother."

Gemma clenched her jaw, staring at Kiera and wondered if Nate was something like her. She never met Nate. It's Arka who saw him and killed him.
