"IT'S HOT!!!!"
Gemma rolled her eyes. Kiera had shouted the same thing from the moment their ship harboured on the dock.
Now, they had to walk to reach the main city. It wasn't so far. They could see the roofs from the point they standing.
Gemma knew it's very hot here. The sun was high above their head and the ocean of sand in front of them burned their eyes. But Kiera's complain wasn't made sense. All of them knew it's hot.
Like the sun alone was not enough to make them suffer, the sand made them walk slower. Their feet were sink to the sand deep every time they made a step and it didn't feel good to feel the hot sand entered your shoes. No matter how Gemma and Raye were getting used to the heat in Tara, they never knew Hila could be worse. They all used some kind of hat that people in Hila usually used. Raye bought them on the dock. A person with very dark skin sold it. The hat had a thick fabric on the top and there were long clothes stitched on the sides so they were protected from the sun and the sand blown by the wind."If you keep shouting like that, you'll just make it hotter." Sekt said patiently, holding his hat above his head, prevented the wind from blew it away. The brown color of the hat made his purple hair popped out more.
Inside her heart, Gemma wondered where Sekt could be seen normal.Kiera stomped her feet hard on the sand, made more sand filled her boots and it raged her more. "I hate in here. Why can't we just go back and choose the other kingdom??"
Raye sighed. His face filled with sweat already and there's nothing he wanted now than a huge glass of cold water.
"Lady Kiera, you saw yourself our food and water are getting low. We need to buy supplies in the city. Beside, we have a mission to complete."Kiera made a desperate groan and sat on the ground. She wanted to stay there as protest but when she felt how hot the sand beneath her butt, she quickly raised to her feet again.
"This is crazy!!! I can't live here!"Gemma made a tsk sound and glared at her. "Then maybe you should never come on this quest. Listen! If you want a better place, the city is the best option we have. Standing here and growling around do not help at all. We're going to die by the sun if we stay here."
Kiera didn't like it when Gemma was right. No other option.
She couldn't comeback to the ship without them. The supplies they had wouldn't be enough especially Kiera didn't know where they would be back.
Maybe a week, a few weeks, a month, maybe more than a month.Sekt huffed when Kiera still showed no sign to move her feet.
"Maybe you can stay here though. I don't mind. If the sun can't kill you then the other creatures will. You haven't known about Hila yet. These desert is filled with poisonous snakes."Kiera widened her eyes in shock. "Seriously?"
Sekt shrugged his shoulders as respond. "Your choice. Come, Gemma!" He said, pulled Gemma's robe and they continued to walk. Raye followed them.
A moment later, they heard heavy steps behind them."If we don't reach the city in ten minutes, I'll suck you dry! I'm thirsty." Kiera's voice filled their ears again.
The group finally reached the gate. Two guards guarded the gate looked at them with narrow eyes but they passed them calmly, like what Sekt taught them.
"See? We're fine." Sekt whispered to Gemma.
Gemma just smiled a bit as respond. If the guard had to stop someone then it would be Sekt.
He's the most suspicious one with the Katana on his back.
Gemma didn't say it loud to Sekt since at that moment, her attention was taken wholly by the city in front of them.
