"AAARRGGHH!!!"

Kegan groaned in pain as his body slammed hard on the ground.
He wondered what damage happened to his back or his shoulder but he couldn't think about it for too long since a sword was directed right onto his face.

Kegan gasped for one second then rolled his body to his right, prevented the sword from pushing through his skull. With his leg, he kicked the person who tried to attack him before and he dropped as hard as Kegan on the ground.
Without doubt, Kegan grabbed the man's sword and stabbed him with it.
He struggled for a moment before finally the man died.

And that's how Kegan Orvala killed the first man in his life.
His hand shook a bit as his body absorbed the reality.
But he couldn't be afraid. He had prepared for this and it's time to show that his practice for years had something good on him.
Kegan gasped for air and let the sword off of his hands. It stabbed firmly on the man's chest.

Around him, shouts of people and the savage sounds from metal met metal filled his ears.

Kegan didn't know what was happening but he knew one thing.
They were ambushed.
Kegan looked around him and saw the guards of Tara were fighting with a group of people he never saw before. They used dark grey suit from head to toe.

Kegan had no time to relax his muscles since one person from the dark grey group charged toward him.
He quickly grabbed the hilt of his own sword but the man was quicker.
He swung his fist and knocked Kegan down with a hit below his chin.
Once again Kegan met the dirt. The pain he felt made him unable to move. His jaw was hurt so much and it surprised him that his head still glued on his neck.

The man came back. He stood on his side and he raised his sword high.

Kegan narrowed his eyes. From the small space, he saw black mark on the man's wrist. The mark was so popped out until Kegan wondered if it was burned on his skin.

The man was going to stab him and Kegan couldn't move.
He stared blankly at the tip of the sword, waiting for his death to come.

He wondered how it felt when the sword penetrate his body.
Was it going to hurt??

"Kegan!!!!"

The yell was coming along with the appearance of another man. With his body, the dark grey suited man was shoved away and the newcomer didn't waste his time to stab him on his chest.
Then he spun quickly and moved to Kegan on the ground.

"Son!!!! Are you alright??"

Kegan stared at his father in relieve. He nodded his head the pushed himself up from the ground.
"I'm fine, father! Who are they??"

"Assassins." King Lucas answered shortly. They had to stop talking since a bunch of the assasins attacked them.

With his father on his side, Kegan could fight better. He was good but the thing happened there now was real and he never experienced it before.
His hand shook a bit when he took a life of a man for the first time. But Kegan was taught to be strong. He took a grip on his sword tighter and attacked back.

Unfortunately, the Prince was just a teenager. He didn't have enough experiences and the assasins were better.

In one point, King Lucas realized he wasn't the target. It was his son. All of their eyes were looking at Kegan greedily. Like he was a trophy and they were racing to get him first. They were after the next and only heir of Tara.
King Lucas couldn't lose him. He couldn't. Aira couldn't and neither could his people.
