"The Veron has arrived."

Arka stopped his activity from picking the strawberries and moved his gaze to Yatha.
He didn't show any expression then continued his job.
"I know." He finally answered.

They were inside a glasshouse at that time. There were not just both of them inside but the other worker was working far from them so it was safe for Yatha and Arka to talk.
Yatha easily got inside the field since he knew Sid well. The guards on the gate didn't ask anything and he passed them smoothly.

"You do?" Yatha looked surprised when Arka said that.

Arka nodded. He threw the last strawberry he picked to the basket and sighed deeply.
"Sid told us. Well, Denish and I actually. He got a letter from the palace. It is said that everyone will be questioned about the murder if necessary. The progress probably disturb his business for a while and the authority want him to understand that. Beside, the palace needs an additional crate of fruits for the guests until they leave Tara."

"So, how do you feel, Arka?"

"Worry." Arka said honestly. "I won't hide it from you. It's useless. I am afraid." He said.
"But don't get me wrong! I'm afraid not because I feel so guilty about the man. No. I'm not feeling guilty for killing him. He deserved that. I am afraid because if they know it was me, you and Gemma will be dragged into this."

Yatha didn't say anything. He knew it was true. If Arka got caught, Yatha and Gemma would be investigated too since they are the closest person to Arka. If they knew that both of them were protecting him, they would get a punishment as well.

"The last thing I want to see is Gemma on jail, Yatha. I can't see her lived in that misery. Not for my stupidity. So if they have to catch me, then let it be me alone." Arka added.

Yatha sighed. He scratched his nose with his index finger.
"You know your sister, Arka. She won't let them take you alone. She's more stubborn than you."

Yes, of course Arka knew that.
His sister maybe would harm herself just to protect him and Arka felt so disgusted about himself.
It should be him who protect her.
Arka knew, the best chance they had was stayed low. He just had to follow the progress. He left nothing to lead them to him. Well, except for the woman he saved.
But Arka was sure she didn't recognize him. She was busy sobbing and collecting her tattered clothes that night.
Even if she saw him, he covered half of his face and the light was dimmed.
She wouldn't be able to see him, right??

Then if the Veron people found no clue, they would be back to their city.
And he would live in peace again.

"How long do you think they would be here?" Arka asked Yatha.

Yatha thought about it a while.
"Well, I'm not sure. Maybe a month, and if they really investigated everyone in this city then maybe months." He answered.

"That long?" Arka blinked in confusion. "This man..the one I killed...who was he actually? He can't be just a rich people from Veron. I heard from Denish there were a dozen of them here. The man must be someone with a title in Veron."

Yatha sighed deeply. "I'm thinking the same thing, Arka, but no one can give me a correct information about him. The only person who can tell us about him is the people from Veron itself which impossible. If we show interest in this case, they'll suspect us immediately."

Arka massaged his temple. "Dammit!! This case is getting bigger and bigger. I wonder why Queen Aira let them investigate about this."

"My best opinion, she prevents herself from a war with Varon. I know we are more than capable to handle them but as Queen, she has to think a way without sacrificing too much souls. I'm sure if she gave them a rejection, we will no longer having a friendship with the city of Sea." Yatha explained.
