The talk about the duel remained the topic of conversation for weeks- rather they didn't even mention Cassentina's duel, rather Harry and Draco's. The following afternoon when they stood against each other, dueling their way to each other, Harry showed up having the ability to speak parseltongue. This caused even more panic to the rest of the school, especially after the message of the chamber of secrets being opened the previous week.

Cassentina could smell it, before she can even see it. The foul smell of blood which infiltrated her senses. They spoke of it as human blood, but she knew that it wasn't human blood. She would've known that. 'The Chamber of Secrets is opened. Enemies of the Heir Beware' it read. Cassentina glanced at it in passing the evening after it was written. Distinctively, she watched Filch cleaning the stains with a mop and a bucket of water. Although the words had vanished, she could still smell the blood lingering.

Uneventful as ever, Professor Snape remained stern to Cassentina and every lesson, she felt his gaze settle on her, like he was trying to control her. Control me like a monster in a cage. She glared at him and focused on the textbook before her, following his instructions.

"Today you will be brewing an eternal darkness potion. Turn to page 237. Get the ingredients from the cupboard and begin..... Now!"
Everyone rushed in the potions cupboard, gathering their ingredients as quickly as they could. Cassentina waited for the queue to lessen before she went in. She opened the book and looked at the ingredients;
- 1 vile of ghost tears
- 1 cup of dragon blood
- 4 mugglewort beetles
- 7 Cups of water
- 1 teaspoon of mandrake juice

Glancing at the lesser crowd in the cupboard, she stood up and gathered the ingredients, heading back to her cauldron where her sister was busily attempting to perfect the instructions she read. Cassentina's eyes moved to where Ginny sat, but she didn't pay attention to them. Exchanging glances with Luna, she shook her head in disbelief and began to read the instructions. Adding the ingredients with as much accuracy as she could, the potion began to heat and change to a grey-black colour. She stirred the potion clockwise until it was heated enough that it thickened and poured in the dragon blood, giving it a solid stir. The potion was black, bubbling and dark. Snape walked over and looked at the potion. He looked at Casssentina with his usual angry expression and tapped the table with his hands, looking at her in the eye, and to her sister's potion seated next to hers. He remained silent for a couple seconds before speaking.
"Well......done. Lovegood's" he spoke, expressionless and moved on to the rest of the class.

                                                                                   ...

In the late afternoon, after two hours of potions with Ginny's avoiding gaze, Casseintina walked into herbology alongside her sister and stood around a huge table with Luna, but no Ginny. She seemed to have gone missing after heading to the bathroom after potions. Cassentina, concerned for her friend's absence, looked over at the professor who was wearing a large witches hear over her dusty blonde bob of hair. She wore a robe that was colourful, like out of a garden and her friendly smile lit up everyone's bad day. Cassentina knew this lesson will be more cheery than her last! Professor Sprout smiled at the class and clasped her hands together.
"Hello, first years, today was are going to pot a mandrake. Now, everyone put their earmuffs on" she spoke and they followed.
"Make sure their tight" she spoke. "Now, place on your gloves. And watch very closely" she spoke and pulled out a mandrake and it screamed. Even if we had earmuffs on, the sound was just horrible, even if this was a baby. Cassentina hoped that the time she'll meet a fully grown one wouldn't be anytime soon hopefully. She watched the professor holding it by its head replant it into another pot. The muffled cries as she buried it in the soil sent a bit of unease in Cassentina's gut. The professir however, only smiled and dusted off her gloves.
