Once we got changed, we walked to the carriages which were pulled by creatures only people who've seen death can see; thestrals. Luna and I were fascinated to see one, they were magnificent creatures that usually are avoided as they are different. We patted their necks and walked into the carriage, which started going once we got onto it. I knew Seamus Finnegan and his friends were nearby as we can hear them chanting "Look it's Loony and Crazy Lovegood" I tried to ignore them but they were soo annoying. I heard a clank and I turned around, seeing that Seamus has been hit by a rock. Luna looked at me and my eyes widened. She grabbed my hand and we turned back around, watching the school come into sight. I smiled and waited for the carriage to stop and we handed the thestrals a piece of raw meat in thanks. They ate it in one bite and we patted their heads, turning towards the school and dropping off our bags, heading to the dining hall.

We looked up at Dumbledore and smiled at him. I looked around the professor's desk and spotted Hagrid, Professor Snape, Professor Sprout, Professor Flitwick, Professor McGonagall, and a few other teachers as well as what looked like a new teacher, which I suggested was our new DADA teacher; the werewolf. Dumbledore stood up off his chair and walked up to his phoenix stand and smiled.
"Welcome to another year! As you may know, dementors were spotted on the train. They were searching for the mass murderer Sirius Black who recently escaped from Azkaban. It isn't in its nature for a dementor to be forgiving." He spoke fearless. He smiled. "But happiness can be found in the most darkest of times. If one remembers to turn on the light". The crowd clapped and he turned to his professors.
"This year, we have a new Defence Against The Dark Arts teacher, please welcome Professor Lupin."
The crowd clapped and I grimaced, but Luna tapped my shoulder and I clapped.
"As well as the Care of Magical Creatures teacher will be taken by our own Rubeus Hagrid"
The crowd cheered and Hagrid stood up happily, dragging the table forward. I clapped and smiled. I looked over at Luna.
"Care of Magical Creatures? That sounds awesome!" I whispered in glee. She nodded.
"But only third years and onwards can take it!" She answered. I sighed.

After the first years were sorted, food appeared on the table and Luna was excited to see chocolate pudding appear. She excitedly took a piece and started eating. She looked at me and tapped my hand, gesturing me to eat. I nodded and looked up at Dumbledore in fear, then at Professor Lupin who was staring at me. I looked at him in fear and turned back, taking a piece of lemon slice and eating it. It tasted lovely! I'd got to thank the house elves for their hard work. I got tapped in the shoulder and I turned around, spotting professor Flitwick. He smiled.
"Casey, you are needed to see Madam Pomfrey"
I nodded and said goodbye to Luna and looked up at Professor Lupin, who was watching my every step. My eyes widened and I stood up and thanked Professor Flitwick, heading down the corridor and towards the hospital wing. I looked around and spotted Helena Ravenclaw floating around the corridor. I smiled and walked over.
"Helena" I spoke and she turned over and smiled.
"Hello Casey, what brings you here?"
I smiled.
"Heading to the hospital wing to see Madam Pomfrey"
She nodded.
"Then get to it, I don't think Madam Pomfrey likes waiting. Pleasure to see you Casey"
She spoke and floated away. I walked to the hospital wing and spotted Madam Pomfrey. She smiled and handed me a cup, which I drank quickly.
"Pleasure to see you, Casey. How was your Christmas?"
I looked at her.
"Well, I've had better. My father told me the truth about everything and most of the time I was pretty freaked out"
She nodded.
"The truth?"
I nodded.
"I always thought I was born a vampire, but no one is born a vampire, you'd have to be changed. My family had no choice."
She nodded and grabbed my cup, walking away and placing it on the table.
"See you at Breakfast. Oh and the Ravenclaw password is intellectual"
I nodded and waved goodbye, heading upstairs to the Ravenclaw common room and saw Rowena Ravenclaw's portrait and she smiled.
"What is a promise, you could break but never keep? What will you rely on, but never succeed and what is a starry sky without darkness?" She spoke
"Firstly, isn't it a broken promise, it's broken and you could never keep it. Secondly, I, sure it's enemy as you could rely on them, but never succeed as they don't like you. And finally, stars need darkness to shine, so it means there is a light in the most darkest of times. So a broken promise, from an enemy will light up the dark sky?" She nodded and I walked into the common room and up the stairs, falling asleep.
........ A couple of hours later....
I woke up with a strange sound and looked out the window, I couldn't see anything so I shook my head and turned around. The woman in my dreams; my grandmother stood there. I jumped.
"Hello, Casey. Long time no see?" She spoke. My eyes widened and I stood there still as a statue.
"Hello, grandmother"
She looked at me and smiled.
"Your dearest dad told you everything, did he?"
I nodded. She smiled, showing her fangs, I looked down in fear, but she lifted my head up, smiling.
"No need to fear, my dear. You and I are very similar"
I shook my head.
"My mother and father had no choice. Besides" I spoke looking at her. "I'll never be like you"
She grimaced and let go of my face and laughed soo hard, she hand to hold the bed to stop. I looked at her blankly and slowly walked towards the door, opening it behind me.
"Little vampire" she cursed. I closed my eyes and ran as fast as I could down the stairs in fear. No one was awake and my steps echoed. I stopped in the corridor, near the Griffindoor common room and cached my breath but I was too late. She stood there and pierced me to the wall.
"Scared, are you? If only people knew! They'd be the ones scared"
I grimaced.
"I will never hurt anyone"
She smirked and clutched her cold hands on my chin.
"But you will, but you will"
"Never" I cursed and she grimaced and squeezed me harder, feeling her burning my skin. The pain as unberable. I tried and tried to kick her and get her away, but she would get tighter. She grabbed a piece of wood and pierced it through my chest. My throat stung and I puked out blood. I knew it was almost the end. My life was over! The light was leaving my eyes and all of a sudden, my grandmother stopped and I spotted a piece of wood was there I between her stomach. She screamed and fire burnt her to ashes. I breathed in relief and pulled out the piece of wood from my chest and looked up to see Professor Lupin; my rescuer. I smiled and fainted, feeling him lifting me up and bringing me to the hospital wing
