She jumped out of a dreamless sleep and sat up on the infirmary bed, clutching her necklace. The room was unusually bright for the afternoon and she swung her feet over the bed before jumping off. Drowsiness overtook her as she wobbled a bit, her steps fathering. She eyed the nurse tending to a seventh year boy and eyed Cassentina with a hush.

"Child. Don't be so eager to get out so soon, you've only been out a couple hours. You can still make it to your last class" she spoke, walking over to her. She smiled and locked eyes with her, handing her another cup of rabbit blood and turned away as she drank slowly. A figure with long blond hair emerged, clutching two satchels and a wand behind her ear. She smiled and finished her glass as she accumulated herself to a empty bed next to where she stood.

"Sorry for not coming sooner" she spoke. Cassentina smiled and gave her a reassuring hug. She smelt of lemongrass.

"What had I missed?"
She smiled.
"Oh, not much. I took notes for you and wrote them in your book. A Slytherin boy was givinf me this funny look when I was reading The Quibbler in the dining hall just before. I think he saw a nargle but I couldn't help because he was in a group of second years who laughed at me"

"Thanks" Cassentina spoke and Luna handed her the satchel.

"Is he ok?" she spoke. Luna smiled.
"I don't even think he took any house points. He only watched you leave and Madam Pomphrey was already tending his face before class ended. Lucky for us he still managed to give us a foot long essay on vampires" she spoke as she glanced at her sister with a smile.

"That is easy. I don't even need a book." she looked at her textbook. "Do you prefer garlic or a stake to the heart?" she spoke as Cassentina pushed her, laughing.

"Very funny" she answered with a smile. Luna looked at her eyes.
"You know before, your eyes were really red, but they've changed to a mossy yellow" she spoke and held her sister's chin to get a closer look. "I think that daisy was the same colour" she spoke as her sister smiled, reading through her notes and closing the book without any second thought as the clocktower struck 2pm.

Walking down the corridor a few moments later, she spotted Ginny who gave her a bone-crushing hug. Her older twin brothers walked behind her.

"I heard you gave Professor Snape a hard time" one spoke as the boys exchanged smiling glances.

"No wonder he was in a foul mood. Even McGonagall didn't dare face him" the other smiled, before giving them a salute and disappearing down the corridor.

The three girls trotted down to the dining hall after a long Transfiguration lesson and plenty of homework to go round. Ginny seemed a bit distant after the encounter with her brothers, but Cassentina thought it was just nervousness and didn't bother to ask.

When food appeared on the table, Cassentina watched Ginny move over to sit at the Gryffindor table, a pile of books in her hand. She could hear her blood pumping fast, a sense of fear in her. Cassentina frowned, it seemed like there was more than back to school nervousness.

A strong minty smell heightened her senses as she looked at a cup of peppermint tea in front of her. She turned to her sister and muttered a thanks. She tapped her hand reassuringly, barely looking away from her food.
"Calms the nerves" she muttered as Cassentina smiled, sipping her tea as she opened her transfiguration notes.

Two Gryffindor boys walked over, chuckling. Cassentina looked up from her book, they stood behind them.

"Talking about your magical creatures again are you, Loony Lovegood" they teased, laughing as Luna gave them a faint glare. Cassentina frowned and shot daggers at them with her eyes.
"Nobody talks to my sister like that. We can be whoever we want to be"
He pulled his arm away in protest.
"Pathetic" he spat and looked at her. "Just like your sister, Crazy Lovegood. Runs in the family I presume"
A few kids laughed beside them and she grabbed her books and Luna's hand before pacing out of the hall.

Whilst they walked up the stairs from the dining hall, Luna remained quiet.

"Don't bother what they say. They only say that when they think they know better. But they didn't get sorted into Ravenclaw so they can't overpower us" she spoke as Luna smiled, facing her as she slid her hand along the railing.

"Intelligence, a ready mind, wit, sharpness and individuality! Ravenclaw is the house where regardless of what others think we can express ourselves" she muttered as she knocked on the eagle door three times before heading inside.
She sat herself down on a blue sofa and Cassentina sat herself next to her, taking out the book Helena offered to her.

The room was rather empty for this time of night apart from a couple fifth years on a stool talking notes from their textbook. Cassentina glanced up at the stars above her and smiled.

Looking across the room, she eyed the ghost of Helena Ravenclaw running her hand along the bookshelf, her back to them. She felt the gaze behind her and faced the two of them and book she gave her in Cassentina's hand.

"Like the book?" she asked as Cassentina nodded.
"Yes, it is absolutely fascinating. Thank you for offering it out to me"
"My pleasure" she answered and looked up at the clock, before turning away and floating out of the room.

Later that week after lessons about vampires, brooms, enchantment and levitation spells, with countless hours of notes, she was exhausted and took the weekend off to do some light reading. However, she disliked Defense Against the Dark Arts more than anything. Professor Lockheart, a Ravenclaw in his youth, spent most of his time boasting about his achievements rather than teaching. In fact, she disliked it more than Potions with Professor Snape who kept a keen eye on her after the incident and reframed from using wolfsbane and instead murwood root in the potions.

Professor Lockheart strut down the stairs as the duelling club watched him walk.

"Good morning class. Today we will be duelling each other. I don't think it went well with the other class, but Professor Snape has offered to help us today."
He walked down the stairs and onto the duelling platform as did Snape, who glanced at her with a smirk before walking over to the centre of the room.
"First you bow to each other" and they bowed.
"3, 2, 1!"
Snape pointed his wand above his head and brought it forward.
"Ex-pelli-armous" and Professor Lockheart fell backwards. Snape smirked and Lockheart stood up and brushed himself off, looking at the class.
"Team up and duel each other. Cassentina and Ginny. You go first."
Luna smiled and Cassentina nodded, walking over to the platform, taking her wand and pointing it at Ginny's.
"Wands ready. Disarm only"
She raised her arm above Cassentina's head and pointed her wand at her, but Cassentina was too quick. Expelliarmous. She spoke and smiled as her wand flew from her hands and she scrambled to pick it up.

"Well done Miss Lovegood. 10 points to Ravenclaw" Professor Lockheart spoke as a cheer erupted from the crowd. Ginny grimaced and stood up, pointing her wand at her. Cassentina followed. "Expelliarmous" Ginny spoke and was blasted backwards as a cause of the backfire. Cassentina frowned as she walked out of the middle and to her group of friends.
"Sorry" Cassentina spoke. She grimaced.
"I at least went easy" she muttered and lifted up her knee. It was bleeding. Cassentina looked at it, as Luna grabbed her shoulders and they walked out of the crowd. Cassentina breathed a sigh of relied and looked at Luna.
"Thanks"
"My pleasure"
