Chapter 20- New Ability

I sat down next to Luna, still smiling. Luna looked at me, confused and pinched me.
"Ow" I spoke, rubbing my arm. I glanced at her.
"What was that for?"
"You were daydreaming. It looks like you've created a mess of wrackspirts." She spoke and glanced at me for a few seconds, almost reading my mind. She covered her mouth in shock.
"Your in love" she spoke, my face reddened more and I nodded. She glared at me, trying to read my thoughts again.
"Is it..... Roger Davis?"
"Eww... He's dating some else"
"What about Terry Boot?"
"No, he's not my type"
"You have a type?" Cho interrupted.
"Of course, doesn't everyone?"
They nodded and shrugged their shoulders.
"Anyway" I spoke, looking at them. "He's not in Ravenclaw"
"Of course he's not in Ravenclaw!' Penelope interrupted. "There are not that much attractive boys here compared to the other houses". I nodded and glanced back at Luna.
"Ooh, is he in a year above us?" Padma spoke, intrigued. I nodded. The three of them exchanged glances.
"Is it Harry Potter?" Luna spoke.
"No, I've never met him"
"What about Seamus Finnegan" Padma spoke. I shook my head.
"He's very popular and he's not a Griffindoor"
"Or a Hufflepuff, I suggest" Luna interrupted. I nodded. Cho and Padma exchanged glances in shock.
"It can't be....." Padma spoke and turned to the Slytherin table and back to us.
"Who?" Penelope interrupted. I glanced at Padma and nodded. He mouth fell open in shock.
"Who is in Slytherin that is really popular and we will be shocked to see you with, technically meaning pretty bad boy...." Penelope spoke and covered her mouth.
"No" she spoke. I nodded and looked at them.
"It's.... Draco Malfoy" I spoke. Pretty much everyone at the Ravenclaw table including Luna, Padma, Cho and Penelope dropped their cutlery and covered their mouth in shock. Luna glanced at me.
"Do you know how evil he is?"
I nodded. "But... We only just chatted a little and we walked together. That doesn't necessarily mean I like him. I only just met him. I was only being friendly."
They nodded and I told them to stay quiet about it or I'll hex them. They kept quiet about it, except Penelope who kept asking me questions about him. I growled and looked at her.
"Ok, can you just forget about it and move on" I cursed and she stared at me and went back to talking to her friends, forgetting about our last conversation. I looked away, relieved, but stopped. I just controlled her mind! I just controlled her mind! I used mind control! I used mind control! Oh my god! Omg! What did I just do! I didn't even know I did it! I glanced at the Slytherin table and spotted the platinum blonde hair. I glanced at him and spotted green eyes looking back at me, smiling. My eyes widened and I smiled, looking away. I glanced at Luna.
"Luna something bad happened" I spoke and she looked at me, confused. I looked at Penelope.
"Hey, Penelope" I spoke. She glanced at me.
"Yes, Casey?"
"Do you know my crush"
"Who would date you?"
"So you don't, at all?"
"Eww, no"
I looked at Luna in fear. She glanced back at me, knowing exactly what I did. She looked at me with empathy for a few seconds, then turned around, walking away. I sat there, alone and played with my scrambled eggs. I shook my head and walked away down the corridor. I sat down on the windowsill, near a tree watching the older Hufflepuff boys play around. I glanced at the only book I really enjoyed reading; The Tales of Beedle the Bard and read it, leaving the outside world and into this magnificent adventure of the Deathly Hallows, just one if my favourite books in the collection of stories. I was in the middle of reading up to my favourite part, but was tapped on the shoulder. I sighed and placed the book back in my satchel and turned around to see that it was Draco. I jumped down from the windowsill and glanced at him. He looked at me.
"Do you really believe in those FairyTales?" He spoke. I glanced at him.
"Hello? Lovegood here. Editor of the Quibbler. Twin sister is fascinated in magical creatures, as am I. But back to my point. Loony and Crazy Lovegood. Weird people"
He glared at me.
"I wouldn't exactly call you crazy and who cares what family you come from. I like you just the same"
"Is that because I'm a pureblood?"
"No...." He spoke, but I knew he was lying. I raised my eyebrows and moved on.
"What do you have first?" I asked.
"Care of Magical Creatures"
"Really?" I spoke, fascinated. "Did you see a hippogriff, you know my wand is made form it's hair"
He glanced at me.
"Well I saw one and it attacked me just because I annoyed it"
"And why did you do that?"
"I don't know, but we got this oaf teaching us"
"Don't be soo judgemental"
"I am not judgemental" he spoke. I laughed, covering my mouth to stop. He looked at me and raised his eyebrows. I glanced at him and stopped laughing.
"Sorry" I mumbled. He smiled and kissed me on the lips. I was too worried to let go and he smiled as he let go and walked away. I shook away the thought. My perfect first kiss by Draco Malfoy. I sighed and shook my hands, walking down the corridor to my next class.

I opened the door of my transfiguration classroom, running a little late. I stood there, with everyone's eyes on me and looked at Professor McGonagall.
"Sorry I'm late, Professor" I spoke and sat down next to Luna. Luna shuffled over and I sat down. She's avoiding me. But I'm her sister, for god's sake. I won't do anything to hurt her. I looked up at the professor and she looked at me and smiled, I took out my moth and looked around the classroom to see the other students doing the same. McGonagall looked at me.
"Casey, do you want to go first?"
I nodded and stood up, taking the moth out of the box.
"I'm going to change this moth into a glass ornament" I spoke. McGonagall looked at me and nodded, ushering me to go on.
I took out my wand from behind my ear and pointed it at the moth. incada intantatum veto. And the moth turned into a diamond shaped glass ornament. The class clapped and professor smiled clapping cheerfully.
"Well done, Casey!Going beyond your comfort zone and doing a grade 3 spell. Well done"
