I thanked my Dad and Luna, walking up to my room with my presents. I placed my book on my bed and opened it. I red the first page, but was interrupted by father knocking on the door. I closed the book and looked up at him.
"Hello, father" I spoke as he sat down next to me. I shuffled over.
"Luna's gone down to the stream" he spoke, pointing outside. "Which leaves you and me"
I looked at him and nodded. "Dad, I haven't been telling you something. I've been having theses strange dreams and the divination professor thinks they're part real and part symbolic. It's always the same one"
He looked at me with fascination and touched my shoulder. I nodded and told him about the seer and the riddles she spoke.
"... I don't know who she is, but I've heard she play an important role. She told me that in my second year there will be a werewolf when I was at the floo network when I was getting my wand. Then she laughs and tells me everyone you love is going to die" I sobbed, tears falling. "... Because of me" I cried as my father tapped me on my shoulder. "And my ability's getting stronger, I can use telekinesis without even knowing as well as self healing. I feel as if something dark is coming, everyone knows that" I spoke, wiping away my tears. Father grabbed my hands and looked at me with fear, and ... Regret?
I let go and looked up at him. "Are you hiding something? What do you know?" I spoke. He looked at me with regret and looked down at the ground.
"I should've told you earlier." He spoke, weakened. I looked at him curiously.
"Dad" I spoke, grabbing his hands and lifting his head. "You can tell me, I'll be right here" I spoke, looking at his saddened eyes. He let go.
"Please forgive me" he sobbed. "I've made mistakes, but your's is greater"
I looked at him, worried. He looked at me, shedding a tear.
"You can never be born a vampire, you have to get changed... You were born and we didn't want to loose you, you lost a lot of blood and we had to call up your grandmother... We had no choice... We didn't want only one child... So she changed you and... She told us that she will have to change you with a price... We were vulnerable and said we will give her anything..." He staggered, crying and shaking. I held his hand and he looked up at me. "I'm sorry, please forgive me... We had no choice" he sobbed. I looked up at him and smiled.
"I'm here, dad. I will always be your little girl" I whispered. He nodded.
"When you were growing up, she watched your all the time, your mum and I went everywhere to change you back, but were unsuccessful. Your mother... She never gave up. She tested every ingredient, but was unsuccessful. She mixed a mandrake and dragon's heart together and... And... BOOM!... I lost her." He spoke and clutched his face into his hands. I tapped him on his back and he hugged me as I hugged him back. He breathed into my ear and I could hear his heart beating at a fast rate.
"Your dreams are very symbolic and could possibly be real, be careful. The seer is a vampire.... But not just any. She's... She's.... Your grandmother. She got changed after she had your mother. She had extraordinary talent and worked closely with you-know-who. Mother found out that she was a vampire in her 2nd year. She also found out that her own mother killed her father when she was born, but once she found out, her mother ran away and went missing for years until she needed her most. When you were born. Your mother knew she had no choice and owled her. She arrived the next day and changed you in our old home. You woke up a few days later and we read all about vampires, so we knew what to do. But there is also great darkness. Vampires aren't born if light."
He turned away and sighed. I looked up at him.
"But, dad. Aren't vampires immortal? How am I still growing up?"
He looked at me.
"Very soon, very soon you will become immortal"
I nodded and he kissed me on the forehead and walked out the door, closing it behind him.I cried and clutched my face in my pillow. I knew the truth now and my life is going to change.
Luna's POV
I heard screaming from the house and ran back, curious. I opened the back door and spotted my father sitting at the table, with his hand clutching his face, crying. I looked at him and walked over. He lifted his head and looked at me with worry.
"I had to tell her the truth."
I looked at him.
"Dad, what truth? What... You haven't told us the real story. Is it about her being a vampire?" I spoke, fascinated and confused at the same time. He looked at me and nodded and grabbed my hand and looked at my eyes.
"No one is born a vampire, you'd have to be changed" he spoke. I nodded and ran up the stairs and slammed opened the door, running over to Casey and hugged her.
"It's going to be alright" I ushered. She shook her head.
"No, it isn't, everything is going to change."
I let her go and wiped away her tears with my handkerchief.
"Tell me the whole story" I spoke. She nodded and told her about our mother finding out about grandma being a vampire, as well as grandmother being the seer and the the person who changed her. She also told her about out mother and how she tried and tried to find a cure, but died trying. Also about our grandmother being a great supporter of you-know-who dedicating her life for him, and knowing him in person. Dark times then and dark times coming, she warned. I sucked in every word and once she'd told me everything, I laid down next to her and blinked away tears forming. I closed my eyes and grabbed her hand in sadness. Dark times are coming.
