She woke up in the morning, soaking in the sun's rays in my eyes. She opened the curtains, feeling sunlight for the first time, She felt changed. Luna hugged her from behind and a smile crept to Cassentina's face, she turned around and hugged her.
"Happy Birthday!" We spoke at the same time. We laughed and ran down the stairs, stopping for a breath at the bottom. Dad walked in and we group hugged. He let go and smiled.

"Your feeling warmer today!" He spoke."The necklace works. I can go out into sunlight!"
He smiled. "That's brilliant"
We walked into the living room to reveal our presents. Opening a box Luna gave her, it revealed a charm bracelet with three red heart charms.

"Thanks sis" she spoke, giving her a hug as she handing her the present she gave her. She opened the present. Her eyes lit up. There was a set of radish earrings that Cassentins made herself. She smiled ear to ear and put them on. Father gave Cassentina the present last night, so Luna opened hers to reveal a butterbeer cork necklace. She smiled and hugged us both.
"Thank you!" She spoke.
"Thank you two, too" Cass spoke.
Their father smiled and he stood up.
"Now for the cake" he muttered, walking down the stairs.

She smiled when he returned with two cupcakes with a candle in each. Luna's was blueberry and hers was strawberry. Cassentina closed her eyes and made a wish. To not be in Slytherin. She blew out the candle. As did Luna. She began to unwrap cupcake from it's case and bit into it, the strawberry taste engulfing her.
Father smiled as he walked out of the kitchen holding two cups. Of course hers was rabbit blood as she picked it up and swished its contents. She could smell Luna's fresh plum juice. If she were entirely human, that would've been her favourite drink, but since she was a vampire most human food didn't appeal to her. She clunked both Luna and her cup together and drank the contents quickly. She placed the cup down in the table and looked at father with a smile. He was looking away.
"Thank you" she spoke
He smiled, looking back at her. "No, thank you both, my beautiful girls" he spoke, smiling.

Father took our cups and we walked down to the creek in a mission ton find the crumple-horned snorshack and a picklewort. She'd never seen a crumple-horned snorshack, but the look on Luna's face as she talked about it gave her reason to go down the hill each morning in search for this creature.

When they raced to the bottom of the hill, she looked down at the riverbed, eyeing the pickleworts in the riverbed. She barefoot in the cold water and sat down on her knees next to Luna, looking at the little fish in the creek.

"Look!" Luna spoke, pointing to a pipy- looking creature moving in the water.
"It's a picklewort" Cassentina answered as she picked it up out of the water, running her hand along it's smooth shell. She handed it to Luna who studied it and placed it back in the water. A small green stick- like bug walked over and picked it up.
"It's..... It's ....."
"A BOATTRUCKLE" they spoke in unison. They looked at each other, showing surprised expressions and picked it up.
"These are really rare!" Cassentina spoke. Luna nodded.
"Let's show father!" She answered, running up to the house. Cassentina smiled, watching her scurry up the hill and followed her.
"Dad, dad" they shouted, puffing at the front door. A commotion came from inside and he opened the door with a smile.
"We found a Boattruckle!"
He looked at them, amazed.
"Are you sure, they're really rare!" He spoke. Luna showed him it and took it out of my hand, handing it to him. Faint scratches from its sharp claws began knitting back together on Cassentina's hand, but eyed as her father's concentration was on the boattruckle and not at her.
"It really is!"
Luna screamed in delight
"My wish came true! I spotted something rare I've never seen before!" Luna spoke. Cassentina shedded a light smile. Luna turned her gaze towards her.
"What did you wish for?" She asked. Cassentina looked away, then looked at her.
"You'll think it's silly" She spoke.
"No, I'd never think of it as silly" she answered. Cassentina sighed.
"Fine. You got me" She spoke, smiling. "I wished that I wouldn't be in Slytherin."
Luna looked at her.
"Why don't you want to be in Slytherin?" She asked. Cassentina gave her a disapproved look.
"My grandmother that was also a vampire was in Slytherin and there wasn't a witch or wizard that turned out good in Slytherin. I'm not evil, am I?" she spoke
"No" Luna spoke. "So your a Ravenclaw" She spoke.
"What about you?" Cassentina asked.
"I don't know. I'd love Ravenclaw to be with you, but Hufflepuff and Gryffindor are also great houses. Well.... Maybe not Gryffindor as I'm not brave, Hufflepuff would be alright, but I would prefer Ravenclaw to be with you"
She nodded. Father handed her back the Boattruckle and Luna grabbed a camera. taking a photo of us together. As the photo printed from under the camera, Luna ran inside and up the stairs, returning with an album. She handed her a quill, where she wrote on the side with her neat cursive handwriting: Luna and Casey's 11th Birthday and first Boattruckle!

Luna smiled and handed the little tree-like creature to her and placed the little creature in our plum tree and walked back inside.

Cassentina picked up her father's newly printed edition of the Quibbler, sat down on a chair, and started reading. This week's edition was ironically about Boattruckles. It fascinated her, the creatures. Bowtruckles were common in the south, but were sold on the black market due to the fact that they could pick locks. She eyed her father, whom adjourned with a steaming cup of peppermint tea in one hand, a quill in the other. She looked over at Luna, sitting on a comfortable armchair reading the same magazine as she was. Cassentina moved next to her. She looked up from her book and smiled.
"Did you see the bit about Boattruckles being destroyed because they can pick locks?"
Luna nodded. "It's horrible, they shouldn't be destroyed because of that"
She nodded and read on about about nifflers who like taking shiny things. That brought a smile to her face. She looked at the picture of it looking at the camera with innocent eyes.

"Luna" She looked up. "Do you think there are nifflers as well as Nargles at Hogwarts?"
She nodded eagerly. Cassentina shook her head. Of course there were. She smiled and looked back at her book and read on about how much shiny things they can put in their pouch.

After a while of reading, She looked at the time and woke up Luna, asleep on her shoulder. Father was still editing the newest edition of the Quibbler, so they kissed him goodnight on the forehead and headed upstairs.

"Goodnight Luna" she spoke, pulling over the blankets, watching Luna switch the light off and closed her eyes.
