We all listened to Rick as he tried to figure out what to do when Gareth and his guys inevitably find us.

"They think they're in control," he said. "We're in here and they could be anywhere. But we know exactly where they are."

"Plan's got stones," my dad spoke up from next to me. "I'll give you that."

"Make our move before they do," I concluded.

"That's right," Rick agreed. "They're not counting on us thinking straight?"

"Are we?" Rosita questioned. Everyone looked at her. "I'm just making sure, it's a big play."

Rick walked over to her. "Remember what these people are capable of." He turned to my uncle. "Tyreese?"

"Yeah?" he answered, staring at the floor.

"You up for this?"

Before he could answer, my mom stood up. "I'm going with you."

"Mom, you should stay here," I protested.

"No," she argued. "I want to be out there. I want to be a part of this."

She walked into the other room and my uncle followed her.

I looked over at my dad. He was staring at the floor, his gaze cold.

It was a few hours later when Rick, Michonne, my parents, Glenn, and Maggie headed out.

Those of us who remained gathered in one room. Carl and I kept watch while the others slept.

Carl was sitting right in front of Judith's crib and I could tell how fiercely he protected his sister.

Despite our circumstances, it made me smile.

It was dead silent in the room. No one spoke.

I felt my heart start to beat quicker and quicker. I took deep breaths to calm myself down.

Carl looked over, noticing, and took my hand, giving it a squeeze.

I looked at him gratefully before turning back to the door.

I was slowly starting to doze off when I heard the sound of the door to the church being forced open.

Carl and I exchanged a worried look before standing up and aiming our guns at the door, preparing for them to come in.

"Well, I guess you know we're here," a voice called from outside. I immediately recognized it as Gareth's and my blood boiled. "And we know you're here. And we're armed. So there's no point in hiding anymore."

There was a moment of silence before he started talking again. "We've been watching you. We know who's here. There's Bob, unless you put him out of his misery already. And Eugene, Rosita, Martin's good friend Tyreese, Carl, Bree, and Judith. Rick and the rest walked out with a lot of your guns. Listen, we don't know where you all are, but this isn't a big place. So let's just stop this before things get more painful than they need to be."

Shut up, I thought.

A moment of silence followed before there was visible rattling on the doorknob.

I had to force my hands to not shake, so if I had to shoot, my aim would be true.

"Look," Gareth called. "You're begins one of these two doors and we have more than enough firepower to take down both. Can't imagine that's what y'all want. How about the priest? Father, you help us wrap this up, we'll let you walk away from this. Just open the door and you can go. You can take the baby with you."
