Finally, Alexandria came into sight, but I immediately saw something wrong.

"Stop the truck," I told Daryl shakily. "Daryl, stop the truck now!"

He did and I climbed over my parents to get out.

Going around to the front of the truck, I took in the horrifying sight in front of me.

The guard tower outside the walls had collapsed, taking down part of the wall with it. Through there, the hundreds of walkers that had broken away from the herd were ambling into the community. It looked like utter chaos.

"Oh, my God!" I breathed. I snapped out of my shock and quickly got back in.

"Daryl, get to Alexandria. Step on it. Come on, quicker!!"

As we sped to the community, all I could think was, I'm coming, guys.

Finally, we arrived at the gate and I was looking for a way in when a sight stopped me.

Maggie was stuck up on a guard post with walkers surrounding the bottom.

"Maggie!" I called. "Mom, Dad, come with me. Daryl you stay in the car."

They all agreed and we got out.

My parents and I grabbed machine guns and ran inside, getting up to the other guard post.

By, that time, things had changed. Enid was with Maggie somehow and was throwing a rope on the other side of the wall.

Maggie was screaming at something and I followed her stare to see Glenn taking on all of the walkers on the ground. They were starting to surround him.

"Glenn!!" I screamed and immediately started shooting the walkers. My parents joined in seconds later.

As Glenn looked over at us in shock, my dad stopped shooting long enough to call to him, "Can you get the gate? I appreciate it, pal!" With that, he laughed and continued to shoot.

Finally, all the walkers were down and I dropped to the ground.

Glenn and I ran over to each other and he pulled me into a tight hug.

"Oh, thank god," I breathed.

He pulled away and put his hands on my shoulders. "You okay?"

Breathing heavily, I nodded. "You?"

He nodded and we ran over to Maggie.

Giving her my hand, I helped her to the ground and hugged her, as well.

"I'm so glad you're okay," she mumbled.

I smiled as we pulled away and I turned to the post again. And there was Enid.

For a second, I just looked at her, not sure how to react. Then, I remembered that she was clearly trying to help Maggie. And, as much as I didn't like it, Carl trusted her. I sighed softly before offering her my hand. I saw the smallest hint of a smile dawn on her face and she took my hand. After helping her down, I gave her an awkward but respectful nod.

I turned to everyone else. "Alright, let's go save Alexandria.

We drove the truck into Alexandria and we all got out and immediately started killing the walkers.

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Daryl start pouring the gasoline from the truck into the pond. I had no idea what he was doing but I knew he must have a plan so I put it out of my mind.

Eventually, I heard his voice. "Guys, get in the truck!"

We exchanged a confused glance but did what we were told.

Daryl told my dad to drive away from the pond a little before getting on top of the truck.

We started driving and Daryl told us to stop after a bit.

Turning around, I saw Daryl take the bazooka and shoot at the pond. Because of the gasoline in the water, a huge fire immediately broke out.

I clambered out of the vehicle and, despite the circumstances, stated at the pond in awe.

"How is that gonna help?" I called to Daryl, but he didn't need to respond. I immediately saw how.

The brightness of the fire attracted tons of he walkers, causing them to walk into it and die.

I was impressed but I didn't have time to stare. Everyone got out of the truck and we continued to fight the walkers.

We needed to save this community.

The sun had risen by the time the last walker was put down.

After catching our breath and making sure everyone was okay, we started looking for anyone who was wounded and bringing them to Denise.

By doing this, I found out that because of this attack, Jessie, Sam, Ron, and Deanna had died. I didn't know Jessie very well and I couldn't stand Sam or Ron, but Deanna's death affected me. Not only was she a good person, she was the leader of Alexandria. What were we gonna do now.

All of the Alexandrians were resting on Denise's porch. I was staring at the walker body-littered streets when Rick opened the door.

"Bree?" he said quietly. His voice was shaking.

I immediately stood up and walked over to him. "What is it?" I asked.

He took a moment. "It's Carl," he said softly.

My heart started racing. He couldn't be dead.

A million thoughts were running through my head as I wordlessly followed him inside. We passed Daryl who was getting his back stitched up, Glenn and Maggie who were checking on Maggie's unborn baby, and Michonne who was holding Judith.

Finally, we came to stand outside of a closed door. Rick hesitated in opening it.

"Is he dead?" I managed to get out.

He took a deep breath. "No." He found the energy to open the door and I nervously walked inside.

Carl was lying in a bed, unconscious. My gaze immediately travelled to the huge bandage covering his eye.

My heart rate quickened even more as I walked to his bedside.

"What happened?" I breathed.

"R-Ron shot him," he explained. "In the eye."

I felt my hand clench into a fist. I knew I was right in not trusting him.

"Will he be okay?" I asked, on the verge of tears.

He sighed. "I don't know." He put his hand on my shoulder. "I'll give you two some privacy." He walked out.

Taking a deep breath, I sat in the chair that was next to the bed.

Tentatively reached out and held his hand between the two of mine.

His clean, soft hand was in direct contrast with my rough dirty hands.

I looked at his face and my heart started hurting. Partly from how much I missed him, but mostly because I was so scared.

"Carl," I whispered. "Please...don't leave me."
