Chapter 39

I sat in the dining room with coffee in my hand as I called Harry. I groaned as he picked up.

"Hey babe"

"Hi Harry, I'm sorry I didn't text you or call you back. We went to a bar and got drunk" I laughed.

"Wow, how you feeling?"

"A bit better now that I'm listening to your voice"

"Aww I miss you too Kat, how's Eli?"

"Well he's in the bathroom now. He was telling me how him and his boyfriend were talking about starting a family and now he's not sure what to do and I hate that he's going through this Harry"

"Oh I know love but you just have to be there for him"

"Yeah I guess that's all I can do, I'm going to go make breakfast. I love you"

"I love you too"

I hung up and made breakfast for Elijah and I.

"Morning" Elijah smiled at me "thanks for this Kat"

"Of course Eli, do you want to go see James today?"

"Yeah I think that'll be good. Have you spoken to Brandon?"

"Who?"

"You ran into a guy named Brandon, you two seemed to know each other"

"Fuck! Brandon!" I gasped "I saw him last night?!"

"Yes" Elijah laughed "you don't remember?"

"No!"

"He put his number in your phone, how is he?"

"He was my first boyfriend, my first love..."

"Ooh! Girl! Have you told Harry?"

"No I totally forgot about Brandon"

"Go meet him for coffee or whatever"

"You'll be okay?" I asked him.

"Yeah I'll be fine"

I called Brandon and we met up to catch up "so how've you been Kathy?"

"I've been really good" I smiled "how have you been? Do you live here now?"

"Yeah I've been living here since after I graduated high school. Where do you live?"

"I live in Los Angeles"

"Wow really?"

"Yeah" I laughed.

"So what are you doing here?" Brandon asked me.

"I'm here for my friend actually, he just really needed a friend"

"Wow that's nice of you, so what do you do?"

"I'm actually an assistant to James Corden"

"Wow look at you, I knew you were going to find something amazing"

"Aww you're sweet, what about you?"

"Marketing finances, nothing special"

I laughed "are you married or dating?"

"I'm not actually, you?"

"Well I'm engaged" I smiled "and I'm really really happy"

"Well that's great Kat, I'm glad you found someone who makes you happy"

"Thanks Brandon, I should go check on my friend but it was nice meeting you"

As soon as I left, I called Harry as I walked back to Elijah's apartment.
