Chapter 67

"Matt are you sure you want to come?" I asked as we went to go pick up the kids.

"Yes mom, I want to be there to help"

I smiled as we picked up the kids and drove to the new house. I opened the front door and the kids ran in and Matt helped with some boxes.

"Ana, Brad & Darcy can you all come here please?" I yelled as they came back and they sat down.

"I want to talk to you guys okay, a lot of things have been going on with your father and I" I tell him "daddy and I love you guys so very much and you will still be seeing him and spending time with him but we're separating which means we're not going to be together anymore"

"And it isn't anything you guys did" Matt tells them "this was mom and dad's decision"

"Are you still going to be our parents?" Ana asked.

"Oh of course sweetie, we are still going to be your parents" I smiled.

Maybe they're just too young to understand. Matt and I grabbed more boxes.

"Mom are you going to be okay?"

"Yeah yeah sweetie, my parents should be here soon to help" I kissed his cheek before he left.

Soon after my parents came by to help me unpack.

"You guys don't have to stay!"

"Sweetie, we want to stay to help you"

I sighed "Alright, well thanks you guys"

"Have you signed the papers yet?" My Dad asked me.

"No, well my lawyer gave me the papers but I gave it to Harry first so once he's done then I'll get it and sign it"

"How is Harry taking it?" My mother asked.

"Honestly not sure, I haven't really spoke to him about it or really spoke to him at all. When I dropped off the papers, I just told him they were the divorce papers"

"Well sweetie, you guys are parents you have to be on a friendly level"

I sighed "no I know, he's the father of our kids but I'm just not ready" I tell my mom.

My dad left "we didn't really leave things on a good note" I tell my mother.

"Why?"

"Well we kind of slept together" I tell her "after I slept with him it just made me realized that I wasn't in love with him"

"Wow and did you tell him that?"

"Yeah, He said he wanted to be together and I said I didn't because I'm not in love with him. It was weird mom, after I told Harry that, it was like clarity, it felt like it was the right thing to do for me and the kids"

"Well then that's good sweetie, this is a brand new beginning for you and the kids. You're doing the right thing okay?"

"Are you sure?" I asked her "the last few days have been so hard" I tell her "I'm basically a single mother to three kids, three kids"

"Oh honey" she rubbed my back "It's going to be hard but it's going to be so worth it when those kids grow up. They are going to be so grateful to you and all you've done for them"

"Really?"

"Yes Katherine" she smiled "I see how you are with your kids, they love you so much"

I smiled and kissed my mother's cheek "thanks mom for just always being there for me"

"Oh of course"

There was a knock on the door, I placed my hand on my mom's back for second as I got up and went to the door.
