Chapter 15

"Do you know what you might do for the holidays?" Chris asked me.

"Not yet, I mean my boyfriend and I talked about maybe spending Christmas with my family and New Years with his"

"You haven't met his family yet right?"

"Yeah no and we've been dating for about like 8 months now" I tell Chris.

"Katherine, can you please come to the front"

I sighed as I got up and left the break room to go to the front to see one of my coworkers and Matt.

"Matty, sweetie... how... what are you doing here?!" I brought him to the back and Chris left us alone.

"Daddy won't tell me about mommy"

He was clearly upset and mad at Harry "here sit down"

I called Harry "Love, Matt isn't in school"

"Babe, he's with me. He's here" I told him.

"What?!"

"He's fine and having some grapes. Send a car and I'll bring him to the front okay? Just let me talk to him first"

"Thank you so much babe"

"Of course"

I hung up and sat down in front of Matt "buddy I know you're upset with daddy but you should never run away from school you hear me?" I asked him and he nodded "I know you want to know about your mommy and your father will tell you about her okay? You just have to give him time honey. Your daddy loves you very much Matt"

"I'm sorry"

"Oh it's okay honey" I hugged him as I saw Harry texted me, he was in front.

I picked him up and walked out to the front "Katherine, why don't you just take the day off?"

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah yeah"

"Thank you"

I went back to grab my stuff then headed out to the car. I opened the door as Matt go in.

"Matt I was so worried"

"They gave me the day off so I'm going to drive to your place okay?" I reached over to Harry's hand "I need to talk to you first before you talk to Matt honey"

"Alright"

We got to Harry's house as I talked to Harry first before he got mad. Harry went to Matt's room and I just stood in the doorway.

"Matt, I want to say thank you for going to Kathy where you would feel safe but running is never the answer son. You have to face your problems okay? Now why did you run?"

"I want to know about mommy" Matt mumbled.

Harry took something out of his pocket, it was a picture. I don't even know who she is. I walked to the kitchen as my mother called.

"Hey mom"

"Hi sweetie, how's work?"

"It's good, um they gave me the day off"

"Why?"

"Well Harry's son Matt ran away from school to my job"

"Oh wow, is he okay?"

"Yeah yeah he's fine. Harry's talking to him now"

"Have you two decided what to do for the holidays?" My mother asked me.

"We walked about it, I think we're going to spend Christmas with you guys then New Years Eve with Harry's family"

"That sounds like a good idea, I can't wait to meet Matt"

"Oh you would love him mom!"

"Love?" I turned to see Harry.

"Mom, I have to go. I'll talk to you soon"

"Okay sweetie"

I hung up and looked at him "how did it go?"

"It went okay, I mean I'm sure there's still more questions to come" Harry tells me "you didn't have to walk away" he grabs my hand.

"I felt like I needed to" I tell him "I'm just your girlfriend Harry and that felt personal and like a family matter" I sighed "you never told me you still had pictures of you two"

"As far as I'm concerned Kat, you are family to us" he smiled "and I only kept some for Matt"

"How come you never showed them to me or even told me who she is?"

"I didn't want you to worry babe"

"You didn't want me to worry?!" I pulled my hand away "are you serious with that Harry? First you didn't tell me about your son! And now you're not telling me about his mother? Listen I don't know about you but I'm in a relationship and in relationships you communicate. You talk about your secrets, your past, present and future. You talk about everything! And I don't know how I feel knowing you lied to me about your two most personal secrets" I tell him "I don't think you were worried about telling me, I think you were worried about me finding out and how I'll react. You don't know how I'll react though Harry because you have to open up to me first"

I let out a groan as I headed towards the door "please don't leave Kat"

I didn't even look at him when I said "I need to Harry"

I walked out the door and headed to the car. I didn't look back but I wanted him to run after me, I wanted him to run after me and beg me to stay so he can tell me everything. So there wouldn't be any secrets between us anymore. But I left his driveway and went home. I took a nice bath, put my pajamas on and ate some dinner.

My phone rang and saw it was Eli "Hey Elijah"

"How's Matt and Harry?"

"Um I'm home actually"

"Wait, what happened?"

"We kind of got into a fight but like not really because I just went off on his ass and left"

"I'm coming over!" Elijah tells me.

I laughed "I love you Eli, see you in a few"

Elijah came over "so now what?" He asked me.

"I don't know" I tell him "I don't know if I can trust him now Eli"

"Wow really? So what about your holiday plans?"

"I guess I'll just have to spend it with my family alone" I mumbled.

"I'm sorry Kat" I leaned on Eli's shoulder as he rubbed my back.

Elijah ended up leaving a few hours after keeping me company. I cleaned up my wine glass then headed to bed. I couldn't sleep though because all I wanted was Harry sleeping next to me. Telling me how much he loves me, I just wanted to be with him.
