A/N - Just a "fun" chapter about when Aki went to visit Yuri when he was in college, and she met Phichit.
I was timidly walking along the crowded streets of Detroit, following behind my brother. I was a bit intimidated by the large groups of people, but I got used to it after living in Tokyo for three years. It was summer break, and I convinced my parents to let me fly out and visit Yuri, with my mobey I earned from making music. It took a little convincing, but I did. I really wanted to see my brother, and I was finally finishing up physical therapy, and was getting my strength back.
"I can't wait to show you everything," my brother said, continuing to lead me through the streets. "I want to show you the campus, the best burger place, oh and the ice rink..." He was so excited he was about to walk out infront of traffic.
"Yuri," I called to him, stopping him from getting hit by a car. With how freaked out I was by all the people it soind as if I was fearful of what he said, not him almost being hit by a car.
"Oh yeah..." he said, noticing the brace I still had on my ankle. He was well aware of the accident. "I get it if you don't want to go to the ice rink." He didn't know where to go from there, scared of how sore talking about rhe incident would make me.
"No, its fine, I want to see where you skate," I reassured my brother, "It just, you were about to walk into traffic." I pointed out how the cross walk was still signalong for people not to cross.
"Oh, I'm just so excited you are here," He wrapped me up in a hug. We easily made it to his appartment he shared with a rink mate. He told me little stories about anything that we passed that had one. We put my stuff in his room, which was only a suit case and a back pack. I was only going to be there for a week.
We sat down on the couch, where Yuri would be sleeping as I was there. I tired to convince him otherwise, but he refused to listen. I started telling him stories from home, and from my experiences in Tokyo. I was telling him about how guys confessed their love to me at least once a week, and how good I got at rejecting them, when the door to the apartment opened. In walked a Thai boy, about the same ave as Yuri
"Phichit!" he greeted his roommate, he hoped up form the couch and bounced over to his friends. I got up and timidly folowed him to the entry way. "This is my sister Aki," he introduced me.
"Its a pleasure to meet you," I told him, in Japanese, bowing to him. He looked a little shocked, scared of needing to go through a language barrier over the next week. A got a disappointed look from my brother. "Sorry," I said with a little laugh, "I know English."
"You are adorable!" He decorated, squishibf my face, "She's like a younger female version of you." He said to my brother.
"Cause I am," I shrugged. The rest of the day the boys took me all around the city, showing me what they wanted to show me. That night I couldn't sleep, not because of the time difference, but what was eating away at my mind. I came to visit my brother for one reason and one reason only. I wanted to talk to him.
We were always together, he was the only person I felt truly understood me, and how I thought. I felt like I was the only one who truly ubderstood him. Sure there were people who tryed, but never succeed. It was just us against the world.
I got out of bed and walked out to where my brorher was sleeping. "Yuri," I called out to him, in Japan, so even if Phitchit was awake he wouldn't know what I was saying. I shook my brothers should, as he groaned in detest. "Yuri," I sobbed, letting my tears fall. "I want to talk." With my tears he bolted awake.
We gathered a box of tissues, and me a glass of water and settled onto Yuri's bed, our backs leanibg against the wall. "What do you want to talk about?" Yuri asked, as my crying subsided, but I knew it would come back.
"You know the accident," I said, let out a painful laugh. Of course her did, you could see the scary on my leg were they needed to preform surgery to realine my bones. "Well it wasn't and accident." His face lit up in shock and confusion. "You are aware they teach us how to land when we fall so we don't get injured, or die." I snickered at that one word. "Well if you don't do that, and at the sppeeds I got, wnd close enough to the wall, you could die right on contact, having your skull fracture on contact and detach from your skull. Not to mentioning all the broken bones. I wanted to die doing the only thing that brought me joy. I wanted to kill myself. That incident was an accident, it was a failed attempt at suicide." I had started crying again, and Yuri started crying. He pulled me into a hug, and we cried together like we used to do when we were little.
"Don't die," he said through his tears, "As long as I'm alive, I will make sure you can be happy. Its us agaonst the world, right." We pulled apart and locked our hands together. Staring into eachothers tear filled eyes, with determination glowing behind them. I made the same pronise to him, but he never knew that.
A/N- I said fun, right?.... Welp, oops.
