The flashing lights coming from the house almost blinded me.

I covered my eyes. "It's okay. You get used to it." Colton said calmly getting out of the truck.

"Maybe for you. You party twenty- four-seven." I spoke.

"Just living the life." I got out the truck and walked up the stairs with Colton.

"Yeah. The crappy one." He glared.

"For your information, these parties are quite fun." He smirked.

"One, that's disgusting. Two, is it also fun waking up with a giant headache?" Out of the corner of my eyes, I saw him roll his.

"That's the only bad part. Otherwise, it's all good."

"Why did you even bring me?" I asked him.

"You need to get out of your shell and become more social." I shivered. Not just because of the small gust of wind but because of what he said.

Social? As in talking to people and dare I say it? Actually go places instead of staying in a private place like my house or the Grey Residence? I think not.

But I'm at a party. With people. To socialize. I just ruined my whole dream.

"So are you coming in or not?" Colton asked and soon after, I unwillingly walked in.

There were people dancing rather promiscuously and there were people smoking anything possible along with drinking all kinds of alcohol in the dark lighting.

"And these are fun?" I asked sarcastically.

"It's my kind of fun." Colton said immediately making his way over to a girl with a mini dress and straight red hair. You know how when you see a person and just by looking, you immediately didn't approve? This was one of those moments. I just knew I didn't like her.

As soon as she turned her head, her face revealed that it was Chloe Smith.

"And may I ask what you're doing here?" I looked to my right to see none other than a smirking Jace Harrison.

I smiled. "Oh you know. Just enjoying the whole thing. Trying to get a new scene."

He chuckled. "Colton drag you here?"

"What way? Literally dragging me? Or carrying me off the roof for Eleighna to get me ready? I didn't have a choice."

"Sounds like him. He likes for everything goes his way. It usually does."

I scoffed. "Not everything."

"You're the first girl I have met who hasn't fallen victim to his charm and tricks."

"It actually annoys me."

He smiled. "I like you." He must've noticed how that sounded by the way he got nervous and panicky. "In a totally friendly way. Not in that way, I promise."

"I know what you mean." I said then after a moment of silence, I spoke again. "Is Chloe Smith another one of Colton's girls'?"

"He usually goes to her. He doesn't particularly like her but she's there."

"That explains it." I said remembering the brief encounters with Chloe. By encounters, I meant glares thrown at me as she walked past my room or when she exited the house. I just smiled sweetly and waved mostly just because, well, I'm just an all round asshole.

"What?"

"Her glares when she's walking around their house. She acts as if I'm vermin."

"You live with Colton. She's convinced he's her boyfriend which if he was, she's a cheating whore. She's just jealous." He confirmed my wandering thoughts.
