Colton's POV
Right now, I looked at Elliana as nothing more than a fling but somewhere deep in my mind, I knew she was different - more difficult, harder, and most of all, more clever. Most girls would have already given in given the chance to spend a few weeks in my house, let alone next to my room.
I could tell she didn't like me and that her standards were far different from mine. She was a geek and I? Well, I was a fucking popular. She isn't on my end of the social ladder. I'm on the top while she's at the bottom.
The moment I caught her in my arms and looked down into her hazel eyes, I felt my heartbeat quicken, but I'm sure it's nothing else but eagerness and anticipation for the completion of my bet.
In all reality, I knew exactly how I had to act around her and normally, girls were like putty in my hands but no, she was like steel.
Elliana's POV
Sleepiness and drowsiness were the only things I was feeling right now. I was completely tired.
"Rise and shine, Elliana!" The happy voice of Eleighna woke me up.
I checked my phone and saw that the time was 8:14. "It's a quarter past eight in the morning. How can you be so happy?"
"How can you not? Waking up to the smell of bacon isn't that bad, now is it?" I hadn't noticed what she was talking about until I finally noticed the now faint scent of bacon drift into my room.
"Breakfast?"
"Bingo." Eleighna smiled widely as I had just noticed her attire as well - a crop top with a tank top underneath, skinny jeans, and flats to complete the look. She had also straightened her hair to near perfection and her make-up was done just right. "Now come on. My mama just made some bacon and eggs along with toast."
I nodded and murmured a muffled "Yes" but in all reality, I knew I was going to sleep more. I was in no mood to get up let alone get some food though it did sound quite appealing right now.
It seemed like forever until Eleighna came back and shook me to get up. "If that's how it's going to be. Well okay, then." I felt myself land on uncomfortable and a prickly carpet; at least it isn't wood.
"What was that for?" I whined as I pushed myself up to my feet.
"You should have seen it coming."
"Do you do this to everybody?" I rubbed my eyes as I looked out the window where the Californian sun shined brightly through the crystal clear window.
"Ye-"
"Eleighna! Is Elliana up yet?!" I heard Mrs. Grey shout out.
"Yes, mama!"
"I thought you did it on your own accord?" My eyes still felt heavy even though I was now wide awake. I wonder if I'm the only person who can't go back to sleep once they've been woken up?
"Oh, I did, now get ready." I only listen to people that I like or can tolerate, and Eleighna was someone that I liked - someone that I could tell was a good person.
In less than an hour, I was already dressed. I won't give the long speech about what I'm wearing because I look horrid.
Eleighna peeked into the room. "Ready?"
"Yeah. Just about." As I walked out of the room, I couldn't help but feel my heartbeat quicken but I wasn't sure if it was supposed to be in a good or bad way.
"Colton! We're heading out!" I heard the floorboards from the stairs creak as who I'm guessing is Colton, walked down.
"Where are you going?" Colton's voice was stern and strict.
