A Small Town Writer Seeks Romance (Part 5)

One Shot #5 (Cont.)

Vision's POV

Time Skip... Six months later...

Life is just wonderful right now. I just published the sequel to my last book two weeks ago and I've been on the road doing press tours for it. The first book was a hit, but this one is being even more well received. I'm making amazing revenue from it. I'm also still with Wanda. Life couldn't be any better than it is. Once I'm done traveling around for press tours, Wanda and I are going to begin writing our book together. We've already discussed characters, plot, setting, etc for it. The characters are going to be a young adult girl named Elizabeth, a slightly older adult male named Paul, and their friends Robert, Mark, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, and Scarlett. It's going to take place in New York City. The plot is going to be a city romance of sorts. I could probably expand on that, but I'd rather keep the readers in the dark, just for a little while.

Another time skip... A year later...

Wanda and I finished writing our book together last month and it's about to be released to the public tomorrow. She's still working at the library part time, but she quit writing for the town's paper so that she could have more time to write our book as well as possibly her own. Wanda's reluctant to write her own first book, but I'm going to gently nudge her onto the path of doing so. I loved writing a book with her, but she needs to solely showcase her writing as well. Her writing is different from mine yet it's so damn good. Oh I let out another important detail, I recently popped the question to Wanda and she said yes. She announced our engagement on social media and everyone went nuts, in the good way... for the most part. There were a few hate comments about the age gap between us, but that's not really a shocker. Yes I'm thirteen years older than Wanda. So what though? Wanda and I are both adults, therefore we have the right to love each other for the rest of our lives.

Thankfully, Wanda said yes and my heart swell rather than break. I've never had a doubt in my mind that she doesn't love me, I was just worried that she might have thought I was rushing the proposal, though in all fairness, I did wait over a year so I wouldn't say that's rushing the proposal. I'll let you all be the judge of that.

Wanda and I are currently on our way to New York City, where we will be doing our big release interview for the book tomorrow. We're going by far since New York City is close enough for us to drive to and not be completely worn out by doing so. I'm at the wheel and she's sitting beside me, appearing as though she's in deep thought. "Wanda, how are you feeling?" She smiles at me with pure love. "I feel amazing. Life is amazing right now. I got to co-write my first book ever with my perfect fiance, got to finally quit writing for the paper, and now get to do some traveling. I've never been to New York City before. I've been dreaming about it since I was a little girl. Do you think we can do some sightseeing after our interview?" I kiss her on the cheek while keeping both hands on the wheel. "We sure can!" She lets out an adorable squeal that melts my heart.

This is going to sound super dorky, but all my life, I've always dreamed of finding a girl that resembles a princess. That's how I've always seen Wanda. Sure I'm attracted to her physically, but my love for her goes so much deeper than just sex. I've seen some of the guys in town look at her like she's merely a sex toy... and it pisses me off so much. If any of them were to ever lay a hand on her, I'd be seeing red for sure. Wanda is just the perfect girl for me. I've finally found true love. It just happens to be a bonus that her and I share the same passion of writing and publishing books. I'm so honored to be able to spend the rest of my life with her. We'll be making it official in three months from now. Life is only going up from here.

Hoped that you guys liked this one shot! Usually I do wedding scenes in full detail, but I thought I'd changed things up a bit for this one shot as well as some others. :) -Mary
