The New Kids On The Block (Part 3)

One Shot #10 (Cont.)

Vision's POV

 Time Skip... Three Weeks Later...

Wanda and I are inseparable at this point. We spend every possible minute we can together. We do everything from eat together to train together. To be honest, I'm surprised we're not sleeping together (not in a sexual way you perverts). Right now, all four of us newbies are going to find out whether or not we have a spot on the team. I'm hoping all of us make it. It'd be a shame if even just one of us was rejected. We're all currently gathered in the board room to find out. Director Fury is studying the four of us newbies really careful. "Well don't you newbies look anxious to know if you're Avengers or not?" We all laugh nervously. I notice Wanda shaking and take her hands in mine, squeezing them gently to reassure her that no matter what happens, everything will be okay in the end.

Fury then heads to the front of the table to begin telling us the results. "All four of you are hard workers and are worthy of being here, but there's a plot twist that you probably weren't expecting. Four of you are vying for spots on the team, but only two of you will get them." The four of us look at each in shock before looking back at Fury. Wanda gives him a look of disgust. "That's not fair Fury. We all deserve to be here." Fury smirks at her. "Life isn't fair princess and you should be nicer to me, considering that you're one of the two that I've chosen to have a spot on the team." She looks like she's about to make a sarcastic remark but thankfully doesn't. I'm so happy that she made the team. Wanda deserves to be here more than anyone else. I'm not going to lie though, I desperately want the other spot on the team.

Fury sets his gaze on me and smirks. "You look like you should use a barf bag Vision. Do you need me to get one?" I look away in embarrassment. "N-No sir, I don't need a barf bag." He nods. "Glad to hear that because the other spot on the team goes to you." I look at him with surprise. "Me?" He rolls his eyes. "There isn't any other red human like android named Vision here is there?" Once again, he's managed to embarrass me. "No sir. Thank you for giving me the other spot. It's truly an honor." Fury seems to soften up a bit. "I'm sorry Rhodes and Sam. You are not full time Avengers, but if it's any consolation, you will have special privileges to fight if and/or when we need you." Both of them grumble to themselves before leaving the room and most likely the building.

Fury notices Wanda and I locking eyes with each other. "I'll give you two some privacy to absorb this good news. Congratulations. You both are indeed worthy Avengers and will be great assets to this team." We both thank him and are grateful when he closes the door, finally giving us the privacy we've been craving all day. "Wanda, we're Avengers now." She smiles tiredly at me. "I know and I'm so happy we are. I'm also really happy that you got the other spot. You're the only one I wanted to fight side by side with." I wrap an arm around her, pulling her towards me. "Wanda, have I told you how much I enjoy your company?" She giggles adorably. "Only like every single day." I chuckle. "I suppose that's true, but I'll say it once again. Wanda, I really enjoy your company." She blushes. "I enjoy your company too Vision."

There's something I've been keeping from Wanda for a couple of weeks now because I know that it's too soon to tell her. I happen to have the biggest crush on her. I think I have since the first day we met, but was denying it up until now. "Viz?", Wanda asks while snapping her fingers in front of my face. "Are you okay?" I snap out of my trance and smile at her. "I'm fine. My apologies, I must have zoned out. I think it's due to me skipping my period of slumber last week." "You skipped sleeping?" I nod sheepishly. "I had a lot of work to do and was really nervous about whether or not I was actually going to make the team." Wanda shakes her head disapprovingly at me. "Viz, I demand you to get some rest right now." I pout at her. "But Wanda, I have two hours of data entries that I need to process as well as a meeting with Tony."

Wanda rolls her eyes, clearly not buying my excuses. "No Vision, you're getting some rest now. Processing the data entries and meeting with Tony can wait a few hours. You've had three weeks without sleep. You need to rest for a few hours." I put my hands up in defeat, not wanting to argue any further with Wanda on the matter. "Fine... I'll go to my room and rest for a few hours, though if I oversleep, I would like to try to wake me up, if that's okay with you?" I nod. "That's perfectly okay with me.", she says with a grin on her face. Oh I know that grin... she's up to something. The question is whether she's up to a good surprise or something bad. I guess I'll find out soon enough.

Wanda walks me to my room and bids me a good rest. Before she turns to walk away, I pull her towards me gently and give her a hug. She's surprised but hugs me back. "I'm proud of us Viz. This is the start of something new and hopefully something wonderful." I smile down at her. "I agree. I too think that this is indeed the start of something new and hopefully something wonderful." We exchange gentle smiles and one more hug before parting ways for the night. It's been a long and eventful day for the both of us.
