Wakanda (Part 2)

One Shot #22 (Cont.)

Wanda's POV

 The next morning...

Vision and I are all ready to leave Scotland and head to Wakanda where we're needed right now. As we tug our few belongings in tow, I look back at our adorable cottage one last time, having a silent prayer that it will make it through the war that's approaching fast. Since Vision and I flying to Wakanda, it will only take us a few hours to get there. Both of us are using every ounce of powers for the day to get there. We'll both crash as soon as we land. "Viz, are you okay?" He smiles sincerely at me. "I'm fine Wanda, I'm just worried about you." I smile at him tiredly. "Don't be. I mean sure I'm a big bundle of nerves right now, but I'll push through it. I always do." "I know you do. That's what I love most about you Wanda. You always pick yourself back up from the dirt."

"Viz, I need you to promise me something." He looks at me seriously. "What do I need to promise you Wanda?" I wrap my arms around him, almost as if I'm afraid to let go. "I need you to promise me you won't do anything rash. You can fight, but you need to fight in proximity to me. You are one of Thanos' targets. If he gets that Infinity Stone in your head, he'll severely injure you... possibly even kill you." Tears well up in my eyes. "I can't lose you Viz, you're all I have." "Wanda, you are loved by all of the Avengers, even if they don't always show it and/or say it." I sigh. "I know Viz, but your love is the only love that matters to me." He puts a hand to my cheek and caresses it gently. "Even if I get hurt, I will fight through the pain. I'm not going to die on you. You won't lose me." I nod and bury my face in chest. He gently strokes my hair and kisses my forehead, calming me down instantly. Viz just has that effect on me.

"Viz, can you tell me a bit more about the Infinity Stone? You know me about it than anyone else does." He smiles. "I sure can." He spends the next half an hour describing the stone itself, it's full abilities, and why Thanos finds it so valuable. I stare at him in awe. "No wonder why I can cause so much damage when I want to. That Infinity Stone is something else Viz." He chuckles. "I agree." We fly the rest of the way in a peaceful silence. Once we land, Vision calls Steve to tell him that we're here. He comes out of hiding and greets us with a tired smile and hugs. I'm not much of a hugger, but Steve is one of my closest friends so I actually hug him back. He then leads us into a base, most likely the one he's been hiding out with Natasha, Bucky, and the rest of his Civil War gang. We go down a few long corridors before meeting up with a few fellow Avengers. All of them spot us immediately and envelop up in warm greetings and hugs. I'm mostly happy to see Natasha, Clint, and Steve of course. Besides Vision, the three of them are my close friends.

We stand around talking casually for a few minutes before getting down to business, beginning to plan strategies on how to protect Vision from Thanos' wrath, what we're going to do if Tony Stark shows up to cause chaos, and just how to go about fighting this war in general. We do this for the next few hours before calling it a night. All of us are going to start training together again first thing in the morning. Right before I fall asleep, Vision gets a message from a pissed off Tony Stark, who claims that he'll be here in a few days. I quickly go down the hall to tell the others to prepare for Tony's arrival. Knowing Stark, he'll definitely have a few tricks up his sleeve as well as a few fellow Avengers. After all, Tony never shows up to a party alone.
