It All Started At A Bar (Part 2)
One Shot #2 (Cont.)
Wanda's POV
Time skip... three days later... Friday to be exact...
I've survived a long three days of work just so I can finally get to go on a date with Vision in just a few minutes. I work as a hotel manager at the Hyatt that looks like an Aztec pyramid. It's a nice place to work, the job just comes with a lot of responsibility is all. My mind has been going back to Vision all day long. I've been texting him off and on during my down time. He seems to be just as excited as I am, if not more so. We're going to have dinner at the restaurant right inside the hotel. I get sixty percent off of the meals I eat here since I'm a manager here. I take advantage of that discount often since the food is so good and there's quite the variety as well.
Fifteen minutes later...
Vision pulls up in front of the hotel and tips a valet guy to park his car. I meet him outside and give him the biggest hug I've ever given anyone. "You're here!" He wraps his arms around me gently. "I am indeed. How was work?" "Work was good. I actually just got off of work a few minutes ago. How was work for you?" Vision smiles. "It was actually good for once because my ignorant boss was out sick today. It gave Bruce and I a day off from having to deal with him. A day off from Tony is very rare. I'm just happy it's the weekend. The beauty of my job is that I only have to work Monday through Friday and I get weekends off." I sigh. "I wish I had the full weekend off but I only have Sundays off." Vision frowns slightly. "I'm sorry to hear that love." I blush. "Love?" Vision's eyes bug out of his head and he blushes himself. "I'm sorry, it slipped out. I promise I won't call you it again if it makes you uncomfortable."
I think about it for a moment before coming to the conclusion that it doesn't bother me at all. In fact, I secretly love it. His British accent is hot. "I don't mind it actually." He looks at me in surprise. "Are you sure?" "I'm sure. Now let's eat, I'm starving." I lead him into the restaurant. We get seated immediately by my friend Natasha who is both an assistant manager of the hotel and the hostess of the restaurant. As menus are placed in front of us, Vision looks over the prices of the food and looks like he's about to faint. I don't blame him, this place is pretty pricey though the sixty percent off discount makes it affordable. "Vision, I'm a manager of the hotel and have a sixty percent off discount that can be extended to friends and family." Vision breathes a sigh of relief. "Oh thank god." A giggle slips out and I cover my mouth. I hate being super giggly. It's not me.
To be honest, I'm already starting to like Vision and we just met a few days ago. I also just got out of a bad relationship with my ex Bucky not that long ago. He works at an office like Vision does... hopefully it's not the same office or that'll make things a little awkward. "So Wanda, you're manager of this hotel? That's pretty impressive." I smile. "Thank you! I've been working here for six years now and I enjoy it a lot. It definitely comes with a lot of perks. I also adore Boston. I was born and raised here. Most people are eager to flee from their birthplace once they become of age, but not me. I've always loved it here and I really can't imagine myself being anywhere else unless I suddenly have a chance of heart when I'm older. What about you Vision?" "Vincent." I look at him in confusion. "Who's Vincent?" He chuckles adorably. "Me. That's my real name. I just wanted you to know that. No one else besides Bruce and Tony know my real name, though Tony only knows it because he has to since he's my boss."
"Vincent, it's a nice name. It suits you." He smiles adorably at me. "Wanda's a better one though. It's really unique too. A beautiful name for a beautiful girl." My heart begins to race. "Vincent, you don't mean that." He leans forward. "Oh but I do Wanda. I know it's soon but I can tell that there's a chemistry between us. I don't want it to get to waste." I frown slightly. "There's something I need to tell you." He frowns as well. "What's wrong Wanda? Is everything okay?" Just as I'm about to answer, our waiter comes over to place our order quickly, which for me steak tips and fries and a crispy chicken sandwich and fries for Vision. We decided on sharing some wine tonight. Probably not the best idea in the long run but it felt right at the time. I snap out of my daze and look at Vision again, ready to give him my answer to his question.
"I just got out of a based relationship with my ex a month ago. He was abusive and I was absolutely stupid to put up with it for as long as I did." Vincent reaches across the table, taking me by surprise by taking my hands in his and squeezing them. "I'm so sorry Wanda. You deserve much better than him. I must admit that if I were to run into him, I wouldn't hesitate to whoop him." I know that this is a serious moment but I really feel like laughing at Vision's word choice. Whoop sounds like a word a seventy year old man would say in an effort to keep up with the modern times and lingo. "Wanda, I don't mean to pry, but I'm curious as to who that asshole is." I take a shaky breath, look him in the eyes, say "Bucky Barnes", and watch as Vision's expression of concern and sadness turns into rage. Well this night is going to take a dark turn fast...
"Bucky Barnes hurt you? He works at my office and often tries to make my life hell. He just got hired not too long ago but he does everything he can to earn extra browny points from Tony. I swear I'm going to kill him when I get to the office Monday morning." I whimper. "Please don't. You're better than that Vision." He sighs and runs a hand through his hair in frustration. "I'll promise not to as long as you tell me that he no longer bothers you." I look away in fear, knowing that Vision is definitely going to kill Bucky on Monday. I slowly look back up at him and see madness in his eyes. I need to diffuse this situation and quick. The only solution my stupid self can come up with is going around to the other side of the table, climbing onto Vision's lap (earning myself some harsh glares from customers and even a couple of co-workers), and crash my lips onto his.
Hoped that you guys liked this part of this one shot! I'm sorry that it was an evil cliffhanger, but I tend to be known for those. ;) -Mary
