Breaking Down Her Walls

One Shot #20 

Vision's POV

 Wanda has been sad all day and it's made me become sad too. I'm worried about her. She's shut herself in her room all day. She's been doing nothing more than staring at the ceiling and/or hiding under a bunch of blankets. I know this because I peeked in a few times when she wasn't aware of my presence. I wasn't being creepy, I did it because I care and am truly worried about her. "Wanda, may I please come in?" She doesn't respond. I simply attempt to open the door and find it already unlocked. I'm startled as I open the door all the way and bump heads (literally) with Wanda. She groans and rubs her head, cursing under her breath. "I'm sorry Wanda. Are you okay?" She simply nods and climbs back into her bed. I watch her for a couple of minutes before I go over to her. 

  "Wanda, why are you so sad today?" She looks at me with red, bloodshot and puffy eyes. "Viz, I have depression." I look at her questionably. "I know this may be a silly and slightly insensitive question so I do apologize in advance, but what exactly is depression?" She looks at me with surprise but takes a deep breath, beginning to answer my question. "Well Viz, the dictionary definition of depression is feelings of severe despondency and dejection. My definition of it is it a common and rather serious mental condition that many people suffer through on a regular basis. For some, it's everyday. For others, it comes in waves. That's how it is for me, it comes in waves. One day I'm fine and the next... I wish I was dead." My heart breaks. "Wanda, I would never want you to die." She looks at me softly but sadly. "I appreciate that Viz." I silently motion with my eyes to her bed. Wanda notices the motion and pats the spot next to her, allowing me to sit down beside her. "Wanda, what can I do to make it better?" 

   Wanda sighs. "You can't make it go away completely, but you can help me fight through it. You can be there for me. You can... hold me... if you don't mind." I smile softly at her. "I don't mind at all." I wrap my arms around her, holding her tightly but not to the point where I'm crushing her. "Am I helping?" She presses her face into the crook of my neck. "This is exactly what I needed right now. Thank you Viz." I smile. "You're very welcome Wanda. Is there anything else I can do for you?" I look right into her eyes and she begins to blush adorably. "Y-You can kiss me." I look at her in shock before the heat rises in my system. "W-Wanda, I'm afraid I'm not a good kisser. I lack experience." For the first time, her somber expression shifts into a small smile. "I can teach you. I happen to have some experience." I scratch the back of my head awkwardly. "Are you sure you want to kiss me? I'm not human Wanda. You deserve a kiss from someone normal." She scoffs. "Screw normal. I'm the farthest thing from normal. I'm a twenty four year old girl who is emotionally damaged and has strange powers. That usually sends "normal" guys running in the opposite direction from me. Not to mention that I used to be evil for awhile."

   I look at her seriously. "If you're absolutely sure that you want me to kiss you, I will gladly do so." She mirrors my serious expression. "I'm absolutely sure Viz." With that being said, the two of us lean into each other, closing the gap that was just between us a moment ago. Her eyes flicker to my lips and she begins kissing me. After a couple of kisses, I pick up on the movement of her lips and mimic her kissing abilities. When we pull apart, both of us are in shock. She seems to be impressed with me and I'm certainly impressed with her. I always have been. I'm just really good at hiding my feelings despite being labeled by the Avengers as naive. "Wanda, what does this mean?" She smiles softly at me. "I think this means that we're dating. Are you cool with that?" I smile back at her. "I'm very cool with that." "Then it's settled, we're dating Viz." I wrap an around her and kiss her on the forehead. "I wouldn't have it any other way."
