One Shot #22 (Cont.) 

Vision's POV

Time Skip... A Week Later...

   I've apparently been unconscious for quite some time because when I wake up, the light of day bothers me a lot more than it normally does. Wanda is sitting by my side and confusion washes over my face. Where am I? Why is Wanda sitting here beside me instead of fighting? I know that the Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy need her right now. She is a major asset to all of us. "W-Wanda?", I crook out in a hoarse voice. Wanda shoots up immediately and looks at me in shock. "Viz?" I look at her for a moment before looking down at the ground in shame. "Wanda, I-I'm sorry for being so weak." Wanda grabs a hold of my hands and strokes them gently, causing tears to rush to my eyes. "Viz, you're not weak. You're so incredibly strong, but sadly even the strongest beings in the universe fall at some point. The question is, are you willing to build yourself back up again?" 

   "I am willing to build myself back up again, but I don't like worrying those around me, especially you. Wanda, you're far stronger than me. You're a true asset to the team. You should be out there fighting, not doting over me. I feel guilty that you've been by my bedside for who knows how long... how long have I actually been unconscious?" "A week." I can feel a heart attack coming on. I can't believe I've been out for a week. "Wanda, I'm awake now. Please, go and fight. They need you out there." She winces. "T-They're fine without me." I raise an eyebrow. "What do you mean by that?" She bites her lip and looks like she's about to cry. I open my arms for her to gently climb into. I'm in quite a bit of pain, but I know Wanda needs comfort right now." "I-I had a falling out with Bruce again yesterday and he Hulked out at me, making me afraid to fight. I'm normally not afraid, but I've had some rough patches with him. Every time I think we've gotten past one, another one quickly comes to the surface."

    A mix of shock, anger, and sadness flashes across my face all at once. "I'm sorry Wanda. I wish that I could make everything better. I want nothing more than to take both of our pain away, but sadly I can't. Until someone gets the Infinity Stone back, I'm just a shell of what I normally am. I hate saying that, but it's the truth." Wanda sobs a bit before nodding into my chest. "Y-You're right Viz. I'll just give Bruce some space and hopefully he'll come around." I nod. We lie in bed in silence for awhile before the man of the hour himself walks into the room. He tenses up at Wanda's presence, but his face shows no immediate threat. In fact, he seems guilty and sad himself. "I'm sorry to bother you Viz, but I need to do a quick exam... of your parts. Wanda, you need to step out for a few minutes." She slowly gets out of my bed and steps out politely, nodding to Bruce who nods back to her. He does a quick exam and then allows Wanda to come back into the room. 

  Bruce looks like he's going to step out, but stops halfway and turns back around to face Wanda and I. "Wanda, I wanted to apologize to you. I treated you like crap and you didn't even do anything. All you did is tell me like it is. I'm also sorry for scaring you when I Hulked out. Hulk's been out of control lately. I'm working on controlling him more. He's getting better. I know that's hard to believe, but it's true." Wanda sighs and leans her head on my shoulder. "I know Bruce. I appreciate your apology. I'm sorry for snapping at you as well. I really want us to be civil with one another, but honestly, I don't know if that's ever going to happen. I think that we should set limits. We should simply discuss work matters and Vision's condition, nothing more and nothing less." Hurt flashes across Bruce's face but he nods. "I-I think that would be best as well." Without another word, Bruce leaves the room, giving Wanda and I some much needed alone time with each other before Wanda finally gathers enough courage to go out and fight again. My Wanda is so strong. She doesn't give herself enough credit. 

Hoped that you guys liked this part of this one shot! Things have been really tough for me these past few days. It's going to be a long road ahead for my parents and I, but if you have any questions, I'll answer them honestly. -Mary
